** JOIN IN THE FIGHT AGAINST UNHEALTHY FOOD FOR OUR CHILDREN! **

Fix My Food South Africa is a youth-led movement that advocates for healthy food access for children and young people. The movement is calling on the South African government to pass the R3337 draft regulation into law. This regulation would limit children's exposure to food marketing and support nutritious food options

TYPES OF TRAUMA & TREATMENTS

WHAT IS TRAUMA?
Trauma is a psychological response to distressing or life-threatening events. It can affect mental, emotional, and physical health.

TYPES:
💥Type 1 trauma refers to single-incident events, like accidents or natural disasters. This is often called "shock" or "acute trauma."
💥Type 2 trauma involves repeated or ongoing traumatic events. Examples include childhood neglect, emotional abuse, and domestic violence.
💥Complex trauma results from prolonged exposure to trauma, particularly in relationships. It often leads to deep emotional and psychological effects.
💥Secondary trauma affects individuals who are exposed to other people's traumatic experiences, such as therapists or first responders.
💥 Vicarious trauma is the emotional residue from hearing about another's traumatic experiences. This is common among caregivers and health professionals.

HEALING FROM TRAUMA:

Handwashing (correctly) is the easiest, most inexpensive, and most impactful solution to protect against illness outbreaks.....BUT this simple yet extremely effective solution seems to have largely been forgotten about since the 'pandemic'!

How long should you wash your hands?
A full 20-40 seconds of handwashing time is required to properly clean your hands.
Sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY at least twice!

Most frequently missed areas according to data from millions of hands.
🖐Under the Fingernails
🖐Wrist Area
🖐In/Around Jewelry
🖐Webbing of Hands
🖐Ridges Around Nail Polish
🖐Knuckles, Skin Ridges, Palm Lines

SOME FACTS ABOUT HANDWASHING:
👉 Over 1,000 different germs can live on hands
👉80% of diseases are spread by hands
👉 Wearing gloves can actually be less safe and less hygienic than not wearing them.
- After gloves are put on, bacteria can multiply quickly on the hands.
- Gloves can also carry bacteria on them, and that bacteria can transfer onto anything you touch.
- Studies have shown that people wash their hands less frequently if they have gloves on.
👉 Damp or wet hands spread or tranfer germs more easily. Dry your hands after washing.
👉 The problem with NOT washing your hands is that you transfer germs to everything you touch (and others touch) - with or without gloves!
👉 Washing your hands can fight antibiotic resistance - another serious global health concern!
👉 Hand sanitiser does help with hand hygiene, particularly WHEN soap and water aren’t accessible. Combining both methods will provide the best protection against illness and help keep you and your loved ones safe.

KEEP IT SIMPLE !
WASH YOUR HANDS PROPERLY and MORE REGULARILY!
