Green Point parkrun

Green Point parkrun Free, fun, 5km timed run/walk around Green Point park and precinct - register at www.parkrun.com We have a "no barcode, no result" policy.

Creating a social and accessible parkrun group for the Green Point, Cape Town area. Every Saturday at 8.00am unless stated otherwise (cancellations announced on our Website, Facebook and Instagram page). The start is just inside the East gate Entrance of the Green Point Urban Park. Google Maps has our preccise location too...

Green Point parkrun is a free and timed 5km route welcome to anyone of any fitness level. Don't forget to bring your barcode, printed, scanned on phone or smartwatch QR code in order to receive an official result. All you need to do is register on the parkrun website at http://www.parkrun.co.za/register/form/ and a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you with a barcode. Once you have registered with parkrun, the barcode that you receive can be used at any parkrun in the world. Green Point parkrun is a volunteer-based event. Once you have run 15 parkruns, please consider volunteering once. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short leash and one dog per person. No bicycles are allowed on the course. - [ ] P13 & P14 (Public parking closest to the start/finish points)
- [ ] P5 (subject to approval of Cape Town Stadium on application)
- [ ] A-Track (overflow when the above are full or unavailable)

Due to the Hoka 21/10/5 events taking place across our precinct on Saturday, we’ve been forced to cancel this week.

There is a possibility of an additional cancellation the following week due to the Rugby 10’s. We will post on our socials as soon as we know.

Please visit Rondebosch, Century City, Bridgetown, Hout Bay, Big Bay, Melkbos, Durbanville or any of the others close by.

Thanks to all our volunteers and Anton for the videos. Today we welcomed 710 participants to our wonderful Green Point parkrun.

677 finishers last week! Green Point, with our stunning park and sporting precinct location continues to present smooth, memorable parkruns and the numbers are growing! 😊

It's thanks as always to the amazing volunteers who take it in turns to make it all happen. This week you can be part of the team because at this stage there are openings for:
3 x Marshals
1 x Barcode Scanner (run first)
1 x Finish Token Supporter (run first)
1 x Tail Walker (includes picking up the signage and markers en route)

648 finishers last week! 🙂🤗 Very close to Green Point's post COVID record of 697 (which was around this time last year).
This week with so many visitors in town and all those new year resolutions we expect another 'biggie'.
BUT parkruns don't just happen, they have to be caused SO if you would like to be on the team of happy volunteers who get this great show on the road please email greenpoint@parkrun.com with your barcode A number.

Exciting news! We’ve secured the permit to host a Green Point parkrun this Saturday, 3 January 2026—the very first of the new year! 🎉

To make this event a success, we need 23 amazing volunteers to step up and help. Last week, we welcomed 555 runners, and we’re aiming even higher this time, with plenty of locals and tourists expected to join.

Volunteering is a fantastic way to be part of a top-notch team, enjoy the vibrant parkrun atmosphere, and receive heartfelt thanks from hundreds of participants.
