Green Point parkrun

Green Point parkrun Free, fun, 5km timed run/walk around Green Point park and precinct - register at www.parkrun.com We have a "no barcode, no result" policy.

Creating a social and accessible parkrun group for the Green Point, Cape Town area. Every Saturday at 8.00am unless stated otherwise (cancellations announced on our Website, Facebook and Instagram page). The start is just inside the East gate Entrance of the Green Point Urban Park. Google Maps has our preccise location too...

Green Point parkrun is a free and timed 5km route welcome to anyone of any fitness level. Don't forget to bring your barcode, printed, scanned on phone or smartwatch QR code in order to receive an official result. All you need to do is register on the parkrun website at http://www.parkrun.co.za/register/form/ and a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you with a barcode. Once you have registered with parkrun, the barcode that you receive can be used at any parkrun in the world. Green Point parkrun is a volunteer-based event. Once you have run 15 parkruns, please consider volunteering once. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short leash and one dog per person. No bicycles are allowed on the course. - [ ] P13 & P14 (Public parking closest to the start/finish points)
- [ ] P5 (subject to approval of Cape Town Stadium on application)
- [ ] A-Track (overflow when the above are full or unavailable)

🏃‍♀️ Green Point parkrun Update! 🏃‍♂️

Hey parkrunners — we’ve got some not-so-fun news 😢 The next three Green Point parkruns are cancelled due to other big events happening in the precinct.

We know... we’re just as disappointed as you are! 💔 And yes, we’ve heard all the great ideas about finding an alternate route — but after 11 years, 433 events & 47,000 finishers, we’ve explored every single possibility around the area and our current event is the most viable option.

Trust us, this route really is the best (and safest) option!

Cape Town’s event calendar is buzzing 🏖️ and that means we’ll have to sit tight for a few weeks. Why not take this as a chance to tour another local parkrun? 🌍 There are so many beautiful ones around the Cape!

We’ll keep you posted on socials — the plan is to be back first week of December. 🎉
Until then, keep those legs ticking over and those barcodes handy! 🖤💛

Despite our polite pleading (and mild emotional blackmail), we still don’t have enough volunteers for tomorrow. If we can’t fill the roles by 2pm today, we may have to cancel — and nobody wants us to be 'that' parkrun.
Still needed:
🟡 5 Marshals (professional clappers & directional pointers)
🎫 2 Finish Token Heroes (must know numbers go in order)
🐢 1 Tail Walker (get a result but need to pick up cones and signage)

Welcome to our weekly panic. We love hosting you. We love seeing you run. But begging for volunteers every week? Not so fun.

Here's the facts: If every person volunteered just twice a year, we’d never have to send emails like this again. No drama. No begging. No imaginary cancellations. Bliss.

So — lace up your volunteer vest this week instead of your running shoes, and help someone else get their PB.

Please note that there will be no parkrun on the 11th and 18th of October due to a Football Tournament and the Cape Town Marathon taking place in our area. ⚽🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
