Some important logistical information with regards to transport:
Please remember you have to arrange your own transport from the Cape Town International Airport to the various hotels. There are a few options:
1) Arrange a dedicated transfer with Quality Touring Service. robin@qualitytouringservices.co.za
2) Catch a taxi - there are taxi services available if you leave the departure halls. You do not have to pre-book. If you cannot find a taxi you can go to the Information desk who will help you find one.
3) Get an Uber Taxi (yes Uber is active in Cape Town)
4) Use the My Citi Bus but please check the times first. The bus does not start before 06h00/6am over the weekend and the last one leaving the airport is at 21h30/9.30pm (over the weekend). We would recommend that the latest you leave on a bus from the airport is at 18h00/6pm. You will then arrive in the city when it is still light and it will be easier to find your hotel.
The terminals are just outside the airport building. You will have to buy a bus ticket and load it with some money. The bus from the airport goes to the Civic Centre. At the Civic Centre you have to catch another bus to go to your hotel. Please see more detail on routes and time tables here.www.myciti.org.za
Please remember to swipe your card when you enter AND exit the bus otherwise you will be penalised. More money can only be loaded onto the cards at major stops such as Civic Centre and the Waterfront.
There is a stop right in front of the CTICC (yellow line - 104) which will help delegates staying at Capetonian, Southern Sun Cullinan, Southern Sun Waterfront and the Westin. Delegates staying at City Lodge can also get onto this ssame bus but get off one stop later at Amsterdam. The T01 Bus (red line) stops at Thibault Sqaure (also a major station). This will be a good one to take to Hollow on the Square.
