Hey all you healing cult alcoholics, try and hold off hitting the Homewood H***h for just a little while longer, can you? The CRISPR steamroller is gathering momentum. It's admittedly a little scary with the potential prospect of designer babies and nation-state genetic rivalries possibly just around the corner, but it is the future. There's nothing you or I can do about it. And charlatans like John and their quack philosophies and fake remedies are about to become the past. Will we finally be able to leave guru-clowns on the trash-heap of history? I hope so.

Is Reincarnation Really a Thing?

In this video series, Ronald McGuru-Clown serves up philosophical junk food for the mind posed as “Essential Life Questions” ostensibly raised by his former shills, including the late Liz Kitching (my sister): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3WZ0RF0NU0

To spare you the ear-bleed and yawning boredom, let me summarize the hackneyed old philosophical chestnuts:

Hogs-breath Questions, Part 1 – Is there such a thing as free will or is everything preordained by destiny?

John’s answer: Partly.

A better answer: This is a non-question. It confuses identity and agency in a way that makes partial sense to your cerebral cortex, but makes no sense from the point of view of the natural world. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will

Hogs-breath Questions, Part 2 – Can being present help clear attachments to past life events?

John’s answer: Absolutely yes. The past does not exist in the present moment.

A better answer: Tell that to the judge! When John eventually goes to prison, will he tell himself the prison walls and his prison-mate bitch-master don’t exist because it’s now the present moment and therefore the jaw-dropping secrets in his past history that put him there are all illusory? Utter nonsense. No one lives in a world without consequences. See: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/11331034/Mindfulness-the-saddest-trend-of-2015.html and “Can I escape justice?” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe-nnogrgTA

Hogs-breath Questions, Part 3 – Is surrendering a one-off event or is it incremental?

John’s answer: You only need to do it once, but you need to do it fully. We tend to surrender conditionally but in order to heal you have to surrender unconditionally. Then he launches into the plagiarized Black Magic Steering-wheel exercise that he says he uses continually, thus implying that he personally has never surrendered fully and unconditionally, even though he runs a healing cult himself. It also implies that he is not himself very well “healed” (or even well-heeled) and he doesn’t have a proper job.

A better answer: Physician, heal thyself! Permanent and unconditional surrender means the total extinction of personal ego. Done properly, with proper guidance, it’s a one-off event like breaking an egg or smashing a vase. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ego_death

Hogs-breath Questions, Part n - ….

A better answer: Don’t even bother. Rather get a fifty-cent course in philosophy from a dropout philosophical undergraduate. See: http://news.pcc.edu/2017/04/philosophy-instructor-tackles-old-questions-with-new-answers/

But John glosses over one important question, which I would class as an “Essential Life Question”. That is, “Is re-incarnation really a thing?” Throughout this series he takes it for granted that his audience buys into the theory of transmigration of souls. But should we?

Here’s my take on it, and it’s my best stab at a “better answer”: https://tinyurl.com/y9lg9uy9

Seldom has a spiritual ego revealed so succinctly such a complete lack of Spiritual Enlightenment as with that quote.
Thích Nhất Hạnh is what you get when you have an outsized Buddhist ego that’s too learned to know that it knows nothing – especially about Enlightenment.
Here’s a tip, Thich-ey Nut old pal, try saying this instead: “Enlightenment is when a wave realizes it is the source of the ocean.”
You are an abject failure. Stop acting so high and mighty. Go put on a suit and go get a proper job downtown as a real estate agent or put on an apron and go earn your keep at Panda Express. Cleanse your mind of its Buddhist parasite. Dive deep into the ocean that never was. Currently you are obviously all Maya-ed in Buddhist filth.

Still, I have to admit. At least you have had genuine teachers and hail from a legitimate line of transmission. Unlike charlatans like John, who just make it all up as they go along.

Do you really need some form of 'medication' to get through the day? How about just being high on life? :-)

Warning: If you do have a life threatening condition like cancer, you probably DO need some kind of medication. I would suggest asking a doctor, rather than a charlatan.

What is Spiritual Enlightenment or Self-Realization?

Here’s an explanation for the rationalist, the secular humanist, the intellectual skeptic or atheist about what the other camp (rather annoyingly and counter-productively) calls “Spiritual Enlightenment”.

The end of faith healing cults like John Homewood's is just around the corner. The saddest thing of all is that if Liz Kitching had just been able to survive barely another five or ten years longer, she probably could have caught the wave that would allow her to reach the age of Ninety ... or perhaps even One Hundred and Ninety.

But, thanks to John, it's too late now.

Although I'm not a qualified medical or psychiatric practitioner, I've self-studied the personality disorders of sociopathy and psychopathy. My conclusion is that John suffers from psychopathy. Although there is no official medical diagnosis of "psychopathy", it is a recognized standard used within the criminal justice system. Here's a brief summary of my conclusion: https://tinyurl.com/majujk7
