The SACS OBU would like to congratulate Danny Wightman, Head Boy, and Ulrich Röth, Deputy Head Boy, on their recent appointments as Head Prefects for 2026.
We look forward to following their journeys in the year ahead.

This past week marked a significant milestone for our SACS Grade 12 learners, a momentous close to their school journey. They attended their Matric Breakfast, their Valedictory, and most notably, received their Old Boys’ tie.

As they now prepare to write their final exams, the SACS Old Boys’ Union extends its best wishes to the Class of ’25 and warmly welcomes them into the Union.

South African College Schools’ (SACS) first hockey team has celebrated an “invincible” season, remaining unbeaten and achieving an historic victory against Netherlands clubs.

Friday evening was a true celebration of SACS spirit, showcasing top-class hockey and incredible camaraderie. It was amazing to see the hockey and broader SACS community come together for a night filled with energy, laughter, and a touch of friendly rivalry.

We kicked the day off with the U14A vs U15A match, followed by a showdown between two Young Old Boys teams. In the curtain-raiser, the SACS Old Boys Over-35s team edged out a tight win against the SACS Associates/Parents team. The U23 Old Boys vs current SACS 1st team match was a true showcase of high-quality hockey and ended in a thrilling 5–5 draw at the final whistle.

Huge thanks to our U10 hockey boys, who were brilliant as ball boys – future stars in action!

A big shoutout to Mike Willig for helping pull the event together, and to Andrew Pieterse for snapping the fantastic pics you see here – thank you!

We’re already looking forward to next year!

How Your Support Is Making a Difference:

On 5 August 2025, the SACS Old Boys’ Committee proudly donated 10 high-quality Manhasset music stands and 5 Shure microphones with stands—valued at R22 000—to the SACS Junior Music Department.

This contribution was made possible through the generous support of Dustin Dumaresq of Infiniti Insurance, Lyall Morgan and Associates, the many SACS Old Boy musicians and special guests who have given their time freely, and everyone who continues to support SACS OBU Cultural Events.

We're proud to be able to give back to the schools that gave us so much.
