Today we joined the Women for Change G20 Shutdown by wearing black and lying down at 12:00 to honour the women whose lives have been taken by gender based violence.

Why is LifeLine Western Cape turning purple in support of the National Shutdown on 21 November? 💜

At LifeLine Western Cape we hear and see how deeply gender-based violence impacts individuals, families and communities. We stand in full support and solidarity with and the G20 Women’s Shutdown. We are committed to providing safe and dignified spaces for healing and support - raising our voice in support of anti-GBV campaigns is one of the ways we can affirm this.

A day at our Facilitation Workshop 💬

On Saturday, we hosted our facilitation workshop for our LifeLine counsellors. John Muir, the presenter, brought so much infectious energy and passion to the day which made the time fly by. Our LifeLine counsellors learnt valuable tools to equip them to be facilitators, like listening, communication styles and conflict resolution.

Our facilitation workshop is a free workshop we provide to all our LifeLine counsellors. Through this course, our counsellors learnt not only the art of facilitation, but also valuable skills they can take into their everyday life.

Thank you to all those LifeLiners who joined us on Saturday! We appreciate your time, participation and commitment - you were all brilliant! 💙

Today we celebrate 57 years of listening, caring, and walking alongside our community. 🌿

What began as a small group of volunteers answering calls from those in crisis has grown into a compassionate network reaching people across the Western Cape and worldwide through phone, WhatsApp, face-to-face, and community-based counselling.

Our strength has always been our people, the volunteers who give their time, empathy and presence, and the small but mighty staff team who hold the web together behind the scenes. Together we keep creating spaces where every person feels seen, heard, and supported.
