PIDDGEN is in the process of developing several genetic tests aimed at detecting mutations in individuals affected with immunodeficiencies. These genetic tests may identify genetic mutations in known genes linked to PIDs (a gene panel will then be used) or new genes by way of whole exome sequencing. We are based at Stellenbosch University in the Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics. We have Medical Geneticists, Molecular Geneticists, Bioinformaticists and Genetic Counsellors on our team. If you are interested in any more information, please email/phone us. We provide the service through Tygerberg Hospital but referrals from Clinicians of private patients are also considered.
