🚫 A Gentle Truth About Dermaplaning
I’ve had a few questions lately, so here’s a simple explanation of why dermaplaning isn’t the best option for most skin types and should not be seen as a skin treatment.
Dermaplaning removes more than “dead skin and fluff.”
It takes off part of your skin barrier — the layer that keeps moisture in, irritants out, and supports your microbiome (your skin’s natural defence system).
When that layer is removed, you’re more likely to experience:
• Sensitivity
• Redness
• Breakouts
• Irritation
• Product reactions
• Long-term barrier weakness
And while peach fuzz removal feels smooth in the moment, that little bit of hair actually helps with hydration, oil flow, and keeping the skin balanced.
Yes, dermaplaning gives an instant glow…
but it often leads to long-term sensitivity.
Your barrier is precious — and there are safer, healthier ways to get smooth, glowing skin without compromising it.
If you’re unsure what’s best for your skin, I’m here to guide you. 💛
