The Cape Town Therapy Hub (based in Green Point, Cape Town) was founded in 2017 with a vision to offer professional, individualised therapeutic support through a collaborative multidiscipplinary team. 📢 Meet our new team member, Ida Wepener!

We’re thrilled to welcome Ida Wepener, an Educational Psychologist who provides warm, evidence-based therapy and comprehensive assessments across the lifespan.

Ida is passionate about creating inclusive, empowering spaces where children, adolescents, and adults feel seen, understood, and supported. Her therapeutic approach is neurodiversity-affirming; and promotes authentic self-development, emotional well-being, and resilience.

Alongside therapy, Ida offers holistic psycho-educational and career assessments. She brings experience from private practice, inpatient psychiatric care, universities, and school-based support systems, enabling her to tailor interventions to each person’s context and developmental stage.

Ida brings a warm, thoughtful, and practical approach - helping clients make sense of their experiences, honour their strengths, and move toward meaningful, sustainable growth. She looks forward to supporting individuals and families in building confidence, connection, and long-term well-being.

🗣Our Speech Therapists are attending an Apraxia Learning Series! 🗣

Over the next four weeks, our Speech Therapists will be attending a 4-part online symposium on Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and related conditions 📚

This week’s focus: Introduction, definitions & diagnosis, including how to differentiate CAS from inconsistent phonological disorder.

We’re always eager to learn and grow, keeping up to date with the latest knowledge and insights to better support the children and families we work with 💛

Join us in welcoming Wes Chipps to the Cape Town Therapy Hub team! 👏

Wes is a Clinical Psycologist with experience working across acute inpatient, forensic, and child and adolescent psychiatry settings.

He provides evidence-based therapy and assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, with a focus on supporting neurodiverse individuals, mood and anxiety difficulties, and complex family dynamics.

Wes's approach is compassionate, practical, and collaborative - helping clients make sense of their challenges and build sustainable paths forward.

Say hello to Jessica Williams - one of the newest members of our team! 💙

Jessica studied Speech-Language Pathology at UCT and has gained extensive experience across a variety of settings. Her background includes working in adult neuro, where she supported individuals with communication and swallowing needs, as well as providing school-based therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), severe intellectual disability (SID), and profound intellectual disability (PID).

She has completed the Stark Griffin Dyslexia Academy course, further strengthening her skills in literacy assessment and intervention. Jessica has a special interest in both Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and is deeply passionate about helping children and adults find meaningful ways to express themselves and connect with those around them.

We’re so excited to have her on board and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll have on the individuals and families we support!
