July is parathyroid awareness month! The parathyroid glands are small glands responsible for regulating calcium levels in the body.

The parathyroid glands are located close to the thyroid gland. The upper (superior) parathyroid glands are located deeper in the neck, while the lower (inferior) parathyroid glands are more towards the front of the neck.
