Treat your children with EQUAL love and compassion.
Every child deserves the chance to; make mistakes, express their feelings, and explore their own interests without being made to feel a sense of responsibility or expectation because they are "the oldest".
No matter how old your eldest child is, they are not "responsible" for their siblings, you - the parent - are responsible for ALL your children's, physical, mental, and emotional needs.

This is an important reminder as we go into the festive season, which is filled with get togethers with families and friends.
Children need to learn that they have autonomy over their bodies, they have the right to give affection only to who they feel comfortable. More importantly, they have the right to say no to giving/receiving affection when they don't feel comfortable.

Your duty as a parent/caregiver is to empower your children, not appease other adults. Let's keep our kids safe and allow them the power to choose and the power of consent.
