Good company, a glass of wine, a game of pool — Robin has quickly settled into a lifestyle that feels effortless at Oasis Life Constantia.
He and his wife Adele have already hosted twenty couples since moving in, and everyone said the same thing: “This just makes sense.”
Beautiful surroundings, security, low-maintenance living and a restaurant you can walk to make all the difference.

After three years at Clara Anna Fontein, Tess and Chris say they love the freedom to dip in and out of activities as they please.
There are talks, wine tastings, craft sessions, book club, Bible study, Canasta, Rummikub and pool… but nothing you have to show up for.
And then there are the days that start with “just a quick coffee” at the Clubhouse — and end up becoming a whole catch-up because half the community stops by.
If you’d like to see how they’ve made the lifestyle their own, read their story in The Muse Issue of Oasis Life Ripple: bit.ly/TheMuseIssue

As a former real estate agent, Gail knows a good development when she sees one — she spent 24 years at Dolphin Beach (also developed by Rabie) and swore she’d never leave it. But sometimes life nudges you toward something better.
At Oasis Life Sunningdale, Gail chose every detail of her new home — from ceiling-height cabinetry to a reimagined dining space — and says the move feels less like slowing down and more like stepping into a lifestyle that finally fits.

We’re proud to be featured in Fairlady Magazine HOT! — a publication that celebrates midlife with confidence, curiosity, and a fresh perspective 🔥
In this issue, in an article titled “Village People” by Sylvia Walker, Oasis Life CEO Glyn Taylor joins the conversation on modern retirement living options, sharing how the Life Right model is helping South Africans live with more security, freedom, and peace of mind.
"Deficits are underwritten by Rabie Property Developers, providing financial security and allowing you to enjoy the same lifestyle without the ongoing stress of rising maintenance costs.” — Glyn Taylor
It’s inspiring to see powerhouse platforms like FAIRLADY championing age positivity — and opening up new ways to think about what later life can look and feel like.

At 83, this former Fairlady Magazine fashion editor and founder of Habits is still designing, still modelling, and still redefining what it means to be visible, stylish, and in demand.
“It’s good for people to see that you can go on working at any age,” says Jenny. “I think part of the reason we’ve got off the ground is that I model the clothes myself — it’s very unusual for women to see an older model.”
Her story captures everything we believe at Oasis Life: that ageism is outdated, creativity doesn’t expire, and purpose is the real measure of youth.

Real estate colleagues first, and neighbours soon — Ana-Maria and Gail met at the Oasis Life Sunningdale launch and signed on the spot. Their story is one of friendship, design, and choosing to live life on their own terms.
💬 “We’re not winding down — we’re winding into something better.”

We’re proud to share that Oasis Life has been voted the #1 Retirement Brand by Die Burger readers in the 2025 Jou Keuse awards 🏆
This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from readers — people who value trust, service, and quality. It’s a testament to our residents, teams, and partners who bring our vision of modern, community-driven retirement living to life every day.
“This honour belongs to our residents and staff who make Oasis Life what it is — a place built on care, connection, and real hospitality.”
— Glyn Taylor, CEO | Oasis Life
Oasis Life is proudly developed by Rabie, one of Cape Town’s most established and trusted developers.
“This recognition reflects what’s possible when vision and purpose come together — it’s a proud moment for both the Oasis Life and Rabie teams.”
— Mariska Auret, CEO | Rabie
Thank you to Die Burger, Editor Willem Jordaan, and all the readers for this incredible acknowledgement — and congratulations to all the other category winners!
If you’ve ever visited Oasis Life Burgundy Estate, chances are you’ve already met Shawn — our Estate Manager and the kind of person who somehow knows everyone’s name (yes, all 300-plus residents!) 🌿
Shawn’s warmth, hands-on leadership and genuine care have made him such an important part of daily life here. We managed to steal a few minutes for a quick chat about what makes Burgundy Estate feel so special:
💬 On knowing everyone by name:
“I’ve maintained close relationships with most of our community from the start. Staying in touch and being present makes it easier to really know people.”
💬 On what a typical day looks like:
“No day is ever the same. I like starting with a walk around the estate — it’s a chance to connect and observe before heading into meetings with the team. A lot of what we do happens quietly in the background, but it’s what keeps everything running smoothly.”
💬 On what he loves most:
“The connection and atmosphere here are what make coming to work so great. This isn’t just a place to live — it’s a place to belong.”
For Shawn, leadership is about presence, not position.
“Be present, listen carefully, and just be yourself,” he says — a philosophy that truly shapes the spirit of Oasis Life Burgundy Estate.

“Rabie has been the leading property developer in the Western Cape for 40 years. During this time we’ve designed, developed and delivered tens of thousands of homes, and millions of square metres of commercial and retail space. But our focus has never just been bricks and mortar.
“Increasingly we’ve devoted ourselves to developing large-scale estates and well integrated, mixed-use developments designed to enhance the quality of life of the people who live, work and play there. In short, we have concentrated on creating spaces people enjoy.
“Now we are extending that throught process into the retirement space. So we put in all the features we’d really love in a retirement village, all the old-fashioned personal service and all the new technology that makes it so easy to connect with our families wherever they may be. And we added everything we’ve learned from our sell-out success of the Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort in Century City.
“Then we looked long and hard at a financial model that would make this level of comfort, security and fun affordable for ordinary South Africans in the uncertain times we are retiring into. After working and reworking our plans, we believe we’ve come up with an excellent solution. It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Oasis Life: retirement living we think you’ll love.”
