A wonderful Sunflower fundraising walk yesterday in Newlands Forest in aid of loved ones with cancer, those who have managed to free themselves of it and those who have sadly passed away. Donations will go a long way in supporting a Pilates rehab programme for women who have had a mastectomy. I’m so happy that some of my EdgeWise Learning Centre students and parents could join us. Thank you to all those who donated and those who managed to join the walk. Only in its second year in CT and we will make sure it grows next year.

Thursday is one of the favourite days as we do our academics and then feast on one of the boy’s delicious lunches followed by some creative work. I’m ever grateful for working with young humans 🙏🏼

Lekker Thursday @ EdgeWise! A mighty meal made by Dom followed by Lee Robinson who is out from the UK and shared his skydiving profession with the guys! I think some of my students are keen to give it a go! It’s wonderful that there are many ways to earn a living. Adventure tourism is one of them. (So nice to see Lee Robinson who I taught in Maun, Botswana when he was 7 years old!)

Thanks to Noah Hoffenberg for coming to share his story with my students. Hearing about another’s persons journey and how they had to navigate life’s challenges is inspiring. Noah is studying education and I believe will inspire many more young students and support them along their journey.

Thursday morning started with yoga with Andrew von Diemen and ended with our communal lunch ritual. Post lunch we watched Clem Sunter, the futurologist speak about his current flags.

Offering a holistic education beyond the curriculum is so important. I encourage all my students to engage in creating something whether it be a table, plant box, jewelry or even a LFC emblem. The process of making something from scratch has so many learning opportunities. I’m super proud of my new workshop space and the students are loving it!
