Behind every wheelchair is a person, a life, a family and a future that deserves to move forward with dignity.

On 18 March, ISWP supported a Shonaquip Social Enterprise outreach at Hermanus Provincial Hospital, where Vicair pressure-relieving cushions were distributed to those who need them most.

For wheelchair users, particularly people with spinal cord injuries, access to appropriate pressure relief is critical to preventing pressure injuries and protecting long-term health.

This initiative, developed over the past few months, brings together industry, social enterprise and government to strengthen sustainable wheelchair service provision in South Africa.
