🧡 World AIDS Day

Today, we pause to remember that HIV doesn’t only affect physical health — it can deeply impact mental health too.

People living with HIV are at higher risk of depression, anxiety, and emotional distress. Stigma remains one of the biggest barriers, often leading to isolation, shame, and silence.

But there is hope. When mental health support is integrated into HIV care, overall well-being and treatment outcomes improve.

What we can all do:
✨ Listen without judgement
✨ Offer support and kindness
✨ Encourage access to counselling and mental health services
✨ Help break the stigma wherever we are

On this World AIDS Day, we stand for compassion, inclusion, and holistic care.
No one should face HIV — or mental health challenges — alone.

💜 25 November — International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

In South Africa, about 1 in 3 women will experience physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. Behind every statistic is a person — and behind every act of violence, there is lasting emotional trauma.

Violence against women is not only a social and legal issue — it is also a mental-health crisis. Survivors often face depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, substance-use challenges and long-term emotional pain.

At Life Path Health, we stand with survivors and support this campaign. Ending violence begins with awareness, prevention and compassion.

In Pietermaritzburg, St Catherine’s Life Path Hospital proudly supports the Brave Haven initiative — a weekend safe space for women and children escaping abuse. Over weekends, our facility provides refuge, safety and support when it is needed most.

💜 To survivors: you are not alone.
💜 To our communities: speak up, support survivors and help create a South Africa where every woman feels safe — in body and mind.
