If this image strikes terror in your heart, relax. When it comes to homeopathic remedies, this scene is completely harmless.

We've heard many a tale of young children consuming a whole bottle of a homeopathy remedy with absolutely no ill-effects. Just a rather expensive sweetie-fest!

There is no risk of overdosing on homeopathic remedies as the body takes what it needs from the remedy and simply discards whatever it doesn't need.

HOOKED ON HOMEOPATHY

We bought Pegasus Pet Calming remedy for Miles and it works incredibly well. It's fastacting and really does the job. Miles is a rescue and very skittish when it comes to loud or unfamiliar noises and people. He's so much more confident and relaxed since we've been using it. It obviously tastes fine, too, because we added it to his tuna and he didn't bat an eye. (He's usually extremely sensitive to tastes and knows immediately if we've added meds to something.) I took this photo an hour or so after giving him a dose. He only ever sleeps in this position when he's feeling relaxed. :) Thanks for an awesome product!

This is a remedy for symptoms associated with Laminitis, which is a disease of the feet of ungulates, found mostly in horses and cattle, involving inflammation of the laminae.

Clinical signs include foot tenderness, pain, bruising, discomfort, tissue & horn damage, infection and poor horn quality. This can progress to an inability to walk and increased temperature in the hooves.

Severe cases with outwardly visible clinical signs are known by the colloquial term 'founder', and progression of the disease will lead to perforation of the coffin bone through the sole of the hoof or being unable to stand up, often requiring euthanasia.

Ingredients:

Arnica 6C – Bruising, inflammation & pain – reducing damage to the laminae.
Aconite 200C – Allays anxiety, regulates pulse and respiration.
Belladonna 30C – Throbbing arteries, pounding pulse, pyrexia (fever) and sweats.
Calc. Flour. 30C – reduces tissue involvement and re-establishes normal structure, especially in chronic cases.
Crataegus 30C – Improves circulation and blood flow to the feet, thus enabling healing.
Ant. Crud 6C – Pronounced laminitic rings on the hoof – hooves become deformed – relieves pain.
Carbo Veg 6C – Useful in severe cases with extensive damage to laminae, where repeated laminitis infection occurs. Aids blood perfusion. To re-establish horn of poor quality.
Ledum 6C – Minimises the effect of concussion and relieves discomfort.
Silica 30C – Minimises the risk of infection. Strengthens the horn, improves quality, especially where hooves are cracked.

Dosage: dose 5 pillules 2-4 hourly initially, in acute cases, reducing to three times daily as improvement is seen. (In chronic cases – continue dosing twice daily well after condition looks healed).

CYSTITIS

Beat the burn! Cystitis is one of the most common and very distressing conditions to experience and can often disrupt daily life.

We have a homeopathic remedy for the typical symptoms of cystitis, including a frequent urge to urinate, a burning sensation when urinating, pain in the bladder area and discoloured urine.

This remedy may also be helpful for incontinence and bed wetting.

Here are some easy steps you can take to support your healing:

• Drink plenty of water (a glass of water every 30 mins). This has a flushing effect that helps to expel bacteria from your bladder and urinary tract before they can multiply and worsen the infection.
• Cranberry products (pure, unsweetened) have long been a cornerstone of home remedies for cystitis. Their effectiveness stems from unique compounds called A-type proanthocyanidins (PACs), which possess an anti-adhesion property. These PACs work by preventing harmful bacteria, particularly E. coli, from sticking to the walls of the bladder and urinary tract, making it easier for them to be flushed out during urination.
• Mix half to one level teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate into a full glass (around 250ml) of water. Ensure it is fully dissolved before drinking. Take this mixture up to three times per day, but do not continue this remedy for more than 48 hours. It is intended for immediate, short-term relief only. Do not use this remedy if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, or kidney problems, or if you are on a sodium-restricted diet.
