Most people walk into a sauna thinking it is just about heat.

But scent changes the entire experience.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to educate a sauna masterclass on the power of essential oils . We explored what essential oils actually are, how quality matters, and the different ways they can be used to support the body and mind.

We also looked at how scent can be intentionally paired with different sauna experiences. Energising oils for uplifting sessions. Grounding oils for deep, slow flows. Blends that support recovery, focus, and relaxation.

When heat, breath, and scent come together, the experience becomes far more powerful.

I am always grateful to share something I care deeply about and to see the creative ways people are using these oils to enhance wellness experiences.

I am a Holistic Occupational Therapist, Pilates Instructor, and Wellness Advocate.

I started using essential oils because I was looking for simple, natural ways to support health in everyday life. And what I discovered changed the way I approach wellness completely.

These oils interact directly with the limbic system in the brain, which plays a role in emotions, memory, and stress response. That is why something as simple as smell can shift how you feel so quickly.

That is why the same smell can feel calming for one person, focusing for another, and comforting for someone else.
