O'live Handmade Soaps

O'live Handmade Soaps We make soap from scratch, using locally sourced, natural ingredients, in Cape Town, South African.

Our journey began in 2011, when we started making soap in our kitchen, out of a desire to only use natural ingredients. We had a little daughter who couldn't use store bought soaps, as those would leave her with extremely dry skin and eczema flare up. After much research, our journey into making skin-loving soaps and balms started. We didn't want to look further than our 'backyard', so we started sourcing only local oils. First up was the Extra Virgin Oil that we source from our friend's farm, Rio Largo Olive Estate, along the Breede River. We also became aware, and inlove, with the medicinal properties of plants that the Cape Floral Kingdom had to offer. We started experimenting with these herbs, in the form herbal infusions, powders, and essential oils, in our soaps. All our soaps contain these secret herbal infusions, to soothe and nourish even the angriest of skins. We have remained true to our passion of creating soap from scratch, using natural ingredients. Our soap is not made from pre - bought melt and pour bases, we lovingly make it in small batches, using the cold-processed method. We still create our bars in small batches, with locally sourced vegetable oils and pure essential oils in our studio in Woodstock, Cape Town. After 3 years of being in business, the husband person left his job to join our business full time. We are now a true family business, led by a husband and wife team, with our children getting involved whenever possible.

When they ask me why my skin glows, I say “pick an oil”!

Yes, oils are great for everyday use. They pamper and brighten your skin without leaving oily and greasiness, just a natural glow.

My absolute favourite and best seller is Kalahari melon oil. It’s quick absorbing and loaded with beneficial anti oxidants. For me, it’s THEE NATURAL OIL. Let me know if you try it!

Had the most fun creating these special edition limited soaps for our Citrus Festival at the for this weekend!
I don’t usually deviate from our regular handmade soap range, but I felt a small and creative range of citrus inspired soaps was in order for this weekend!

These soaps are made with oodles of Shea butter, coconut oil and olive oil and scented with pure citrus essential oils:

1) Lime and Ginger Soap (green)
2) Grapefruit and Tangerine Soap ((pink and cream)
3) Orange and Spice Soap (multi colour)
I admit, it’s been a longish while since I’ve made such designed soaps, but it was fun, fun, fun. The orange spice design came out a lot different to how I’d imagined it but it’s beautiful anyway.

Join us at over this weekend to purchase these! Once these are gone, they’re gone, they are a very small limited batch!

Rooibos, Fynbos Honey and Citrus essential oils.
This was one of our very first soaps, but it has seen a few upgrades since then (like the addition of essential oils to make it a scented bar. It is still a firm favourite.
