Although Kids First is closed, please note that Marina (Speech), Nadine (OT) and Nicole (Ed Psych) will be operating from the old Kids First premises. Here's a message from them:

Hello and welcome to Therapy PODS (Psych, OT, Dietetics and Speechie)!

We are thrilled to announce that we, the therapist from First, have had some exciting changes happening! Firstly, we would like to bid farewell to the Director of Kids First, Amanda Davis as we wish her the very best for her journey ahead. With that being said First is officially closed and in its place we welcome Therapy PODS! Where all the original therapists will continue as a team to provide you with access and the convenience of four different highly trained professionals in one location!

We also welcome a new member to our team, Dietician, Candy Jacobs. We know that Candy will be a valuable member to our team as she provides services that can assist families and children with nutritional advice that will positively impact their growing, learning and performance. On behalf of the original Kids First Centre SA team, I am sad to say that we have now closed our doors. It has been an incredible 5 years supporting children and families in Cape Town. We have met wonderful people and achieved great things for children with additional needs. It has been our privilege and pleasure.

However, we have made the decision to focus on other areas where we feel we can have a bigger impact on our community. Thank you to each and everyone one of you who has supported and encouraged us.

Our wonderful receptionist, Vinnette, is looking for a full or part time role. She is brilliant with children of all ages, kind, caring and reliable. Vinnette has managed a busy practice, taken phone calls, sent reminders, managed bookings and entertained children. She has also worked as domestic and is now looking for the perfect next role.

Kids First is privilged to work with Greyton House Independent Village School. Marina (our Speech and Language Therapist) works there for 2 days each month completing assessments, meeting parents and doing staff training. Our goal is to support all children with reading, spelling, language and communication skills.

Greyton House is currently recruiting an outstanding Grade 2 and 3 teacher. 5 years experience with a solid track recording for outstanding teaching. What an amazing opportunity to join this incredible little school in the beautiful town of Greyton, Overberg.

Our wonderful Mrs T, who has been with the school for 20 years will be retiring at the end of the year. It is going to take someone really special to fill her post. We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join the Kids First team based in London, UK! We are able to offer Tier 2 visa sponsorhip.

You will be working in specialist schools and will be an integral member of our multi-disciplinary team. Words First Ltd is one of the UK's largest independent Speech and Language Therapy practices and Kids First UK is our service for families. We have recently expanded our services to include OT and have two incredible OTs joining us from SA soon.

We thought some of you might appreciate knowing where Tayla went when she left Kids First last year. Well here she is! Tayla Viviers is working at our sister company in London. We are so proud her!

We've welcomed a few new members to our team over the last couple of months. It's so great having them on the team!

Acknowledging and accepting are two of the most powerful gifts we can give to our kids. Acknowledging says: "I see you and I hear you". Accepting says: "I don't need to fix you. Your emotions are ok even if I don't understand them".
