Pregnancy asks a lot of the body.
As your baby grows, your centre of gravity shifts, your ligaments soften, & suddenly even simple things like sitting or standing can start to feel uncomfortable.
One of the quiet but powerful things we practise in class is posture; how to sit, how to stand, & how to support the body as it changes week by week.
In this photo, this beautiful 36 week mother is sitting supported against the wall, legs wide, knees gently propped with blocks. The spine is supported, the pelvis is relaxed, and the body can soften instead of fighting gravity.
Small adjustments like this can ease pressure in the lower back, create space for baby, and help the body feel more stable and comfortable.
Often the most valuable thing about pregnancy yoga is not the poses themselves, but learning how to be in your body during this extraordinary time.
If you're pregnant and want to better understand and support your body through this extraordinary time, whilst finding guidance, movement & community along the way, please come and join us in class.
