Better nutrition isn’t optional, it’s everything 🐾

Pets rely on one consistent diet, which means quality and balance matter at every step. From ingredient selection to scientific formulation, the right nutrition supports long-term health, digestion, and overall wellbeing.

Better ingredients. Balanced nutrition. Better outcomes.

Supply chains are changing, and smart formulation matters more than ever.

By using a wider range of vegetables like beets, parsnips, leafy greens and mushrooms, pet food can stay consistent without compromising on nutrition or quality.

Adaptable ingredients = stable, reliable nutrition for pets 🐾

Not everything in your kitchen belongs in your pet’s bowl 👀

From greasy leftovers to hidden toxins, some “treats” can do far more harm than good. What seems harmless in the moment can lead to serious health issues over time, from digestive upset to long-term disease.

Choose what their body truly understands 🐾

Not all Vitamin B9 is created equal. While folate is naturally found in whole, high-quality ingredients and easily absorbed by your pet’s body, folic acid is a synthetic alternative that requires conversion before it can be used.

At CNP Pet Nutrition, we believe in keeping it real, with bioavailable nutrients and functional ingredients that support your pet’s health from the inside out.

Because better ingredients don’t just make a difference… they make the difference.

We care about pets🐶And that’s exactly why we care about their food🦴

Pet food isn’t just another product on a shelf, it’s a daily decision that impacts health, energy, immunity and longevity. Behind every formulation is a living animal depending on the right balance of nutrients to thrive🐾

That’s why at CNP Pet Nutrition, we take a science-led approach to everything we do. From evidence-based nutrition to strict safety standards and honest formulation practices, every detail is considered with long-term wellbeing in mind, not short-term trends.

Because when formulation is done right, it doesn’t just support products… it supports better lives.

At CNP Pet Nutrition, our responsibility goes beyond brands. It’s about the animals they serve.

Formulation mistakes don’t always show up immediately… but they always cost you later.

From chasing marketing trends to overlooking nutrient balance and regulatory requirements, small decisions in development can lead to big consequences in production, compliance, and pet health.

At CNP Pet Nutrition, we help brands avoid these pitfalls by building formulations rooted in science, guided by regulation, and designed for real-world success.

Because getting it right the first time isn’t just better, it’s essential.

18/03/2026

Regulations aren’t roadblocks, they’re your safety net.

In pet nutrition, every guideline exists for a reason: to ensure products are safe, nutritionally sound, and honestly represented. The result? Healthier pets and stronger, more trusted brands.

Compliance builds credibility.
Transparency builds trust.
And trust builds long-term growth.

At CNP Pet Nutrition, we help you navigate regulations with clarity and confidence, so you’re not just meeting standards, you’re building a brand that lasts.

Because when you understand the rules, you realise they’re not limiting you… they’re protecting you.

Non-compliance in pet food isn’t just a small oversight, it can have serious consequences for your product and your brand.

Delays in registration can push your launch back by months. Late-stage corrections can mean costly reformulations, re-testing, and relabelling. And failing to meet recognised standards such as AAFCO, FEDIAF, or South African regulations under Act 36 of 1947 may result in regulatory penalties, fines, or even product withdrawal.

Compliance isn’t something to fix later. It should be built into your product from the start.

At CNP Pet Nutrition, we help brands navigate formulation, regulatory requirements, and compliance with confidence, so your product is market-ready, credible, and built to last.

12/03/2026

Pet food compliance isn’t something you fix later, it’s something you build in from the start.

Every ingredient, claim and label must meet strict regulatory standards because pet food directly impacts animal health. When compliance is overlooked, brands risk fines, product withdrawals, retail rejection and long-term damage to their reputation.

At CNP Pet Nutrition, compliance is integrated into our formulation process from day one, ensuring your product meets the right standards before it ever reaches the shelf.

Because protecting your product also means protecting your brand🐾

Behind every successful pet food brand is the right nutritional foundation.

At CNP Pet Nutrition, product development goes far beyond ingredients. Our international team of experienced nutritionists works with precision to formulate pet foods, treats, supplements, and nutraceuticals that are nutritionally sound, compliant, and aligned with your brand vision.

From kibble to raw diets, functional treats to advanced wellness supplements, we provide the scientific expertise, formulation strategy, and regulatory guidance needed to bring responsible pet nutrition products to market.

Because great pet products don’t happen by chance. They’re formulated with purpose🐾

06/03/2026

Formulating pet food isn’t as simple as adding protein and vitamins and calling it balanced.

Without the right expertise, brands risk nutritional imbalances, regulatory issues, product recalls and long-term damage to their credibility.

A qualified animal nutritionist ensures your product is scientifically balanced, compliant and built to perform in the market.

Because in pet nutrition, almost right simply isn’t good enough. 🐾

Complete & balanced isn’t marketing language, it’s formulation science.

A truly complete and balanced pet food goes beyond protein percentages. It delivers the full spectrum of nutrients required to support pets at every life stage, from growth to senior years.

At Claws n Paws, we look at:
✔️ Macro-nutrient integrity
Defined amino acid profiles. Functional fats. Digestible carbohydrates.
✔️ Micro-nutrient precision
Optimal vitamin inclusion. Bioavailable minerals. Correct ratios, like calcium:phosphorus.
✔️ Digestibility & absorption
Because nutrients only matter if they’re properly utilised.
✔️ Life-stage targeting

Growth. Maintenance. Senior support. Each stage demands specific adjustments.

Complete & balanced is not a label.
It’s a formulation standard, built on science, not trends.

Our Story

Claws 'n Paws is a pet sitting service that caters to dogs and cats of all ages and needs. We also offer dog training and behavioural sessions, natural medicine, organic dog treats, nutritional consultations and at home medical assistance. With years of experience looking after pets, the well being of them is incredibly important to me as well as giving the owners peace of mind while they are away. (Because let’s be honest - I am one of those super paranoid, helicopter mom, overboard and slightly nutty pet parents and I completely understand how scary being away from your beloved furkids actually is.) With basic certifications in animal nutrition and first aid as well as two and a half years working in the veterinary industry, Claws 'n Paws ensures that your furkids are well looked after so that you can thoroughly enjoy your vacation or business trip. I can administer medications and dress wounds as well as prepare foods for special dietary requirements. Nutritional consultations are also available on request. I have also been a volunteer, fundraiser and supporter of the Lucky Lucy Foundation, and other welfare organisations, since September 2015 - one week after I adopted my dog, Chester. I am also a foster mom to rescued animals who need some TLC to get them healthy and ready for adoption into the “furever” homes.

Being a pet-parent to special needs pets has also given me the understanding and appreciation for those furkids who require a little more focused attention.

Animals are my passion - understanding them, loving them and caring for them will always be my driving force in life. I look forward to meeting all of you and your furkids!
