How amazing!

What an awesome day! 😁🤓😎👓🕶️On behalf of the Rotary Bargain Box, Hermanus and the Ferdi Marais Vision Project, we handed over 74 assorted pairs of spectacles, along with 45 spectacle cases, 3 spectacle sleeves, and 3 sunny clip-on frames to Dr Johanna Fourie at the eye clinic.

These items will be distributed to patients attending the clinic.

We sincerely thank all who donated their unused spectacles. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and continues to change lives 🤓

Nine more grateful patients have received the gift of restored vision at Advanced Health Day Hospital in Durbanville this October.

Thank you Drs Junet van der Merwe and Matthys Theron, and everyone involved.

Several patients are now seeing the world anew — with laughter and courage at Advanced Durbanville Surgical Centre — after they have received free cataract surgeries.

Thanks to our Ferdi Marais Community Vision Project, another 20 patients received the gift of sight today through successful cataract operations! 👁️✨

Thank you to the Hermanus Provincial Hospital Eye Clinic for all the work done in organising all of this! You guys are so amazing. 🤩

What a beautiful blessing for them and their families. We were also happy to provide some delicious sandwiches to keep everyone going through a long day of travel and waiting.

TEAMWORK AND GOOD HEARTS MAKE THE DREAM WORK

On 23 August 2025 another 21 patients from Touws River received cataract surgery and 23 were assessed in the clinic under the excellent leadership and guidance of Dr David Steven from Radiance Foundation.

Thank you to Gift of the Givers for sponsoring this wonderful project and the NGO in Touws River, Compassionate Hearts, for their contributions.

We are also very grateful for the hard work of theatre and clinic staff at Eerste River Hospital, and Drs Wasl and Huwaidi.

EXCITING NEW DEVELOPMENT

On 16 May the opening of the brand new eye clinic at Eerste River Hospital was celebrated in style! The project was driven by the exceptional Dr David Steven from Radiance Foundation.

Refurbished by Gift of the Givers, Dr Sooliman spoke of his appreciation of the work done at Eerste River Hospital and the vital support from the Radiance Foundation.

This event also marked the 10th anniversary of the Radiance Foundation and 20 years since the eye clinic started at Eerste River Hospital.

Attendees included Dr Sooliman, James Kruger (Khayelitsha and Eastern Sub structure director), Dr Adele Anthony (CEO Eerste River Hosptal), Anita Janse Van Rensburg (Radiance Foundation), and Ms Miranda Smouse, a longterm patient of the clinic.

CELEBRATE = to HONOUR

On Friday evening, 14 March, we celebrated Radiance Foundation’s 10 year anniversary and honoured a few of our very special partners and collaborators.
