My passion is to empower people who are stressed and exhausted by their circumstances. I help them utilize their strengths to enable them to make simple, sustainable choices and support them in cultivating overall health and wellbeing. My educational journey started when I studied social work. After a few years of working at Badisa, I decided to spread my wings and join the corporate sector. During this time, I obtained my master's degree in social work. While working in the corporate world, I witnessed how the burden of stress influences so many people, and in different working environments. We know that too much stress can have a negative impact on the body and that it can make us more susceptible to all kinds of illnesses, from the common cold & flu to life-threatening cardiovascular disease. Because many researchers only focused on how to manage stress, it motivated me to do my doctoral studies on the prevention of stress in the workplace, because I believe that everyone deserves to thrive. This is when my focus shifted and I decided that I no longer wanted to simply put a band-aid on a problem and hope it goes away. I realized that what I really wanted was to help people create healthy, sustainable habits that will encourage a happy and healthy life. After attending an arts therapy workshop, a fellow student (with the same bizarre love for learning), convinced me to do another master's degree in positive psychology. I decided to focus my studies on the characteristics and behaviours of couples in fulfilling marriages. I did my research on married couples' perceptions of relational stress and what they believe to be important for a committed and lasting relationship. During lockdown, I struggled with my health and after paying a fortune to different doctors and specialists, I finally met with a health coach who taught me how to nourish my body in a way that would ultimately teach me how to heal myself. That motivated me to complete a certified Life and Health coach course, and I learned that by making only a few easy changes, you can create a lifelong transformation. Through my studies, research and personal experiences I gained and developed a wealth of integrative knowledge on managing stress, cultivating fulfilling relationships, good nutrition and establishing healthy habits to help people unleash their full potential.
