We had the privilege of attending the 4th Annual GBVF Panel Discussion hosted by Kannigan Attorneys, featuring an excellent panel of experts in the field. This important engagement formed part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign — a period that calls us to pause, reflect, and actively advocate for the protection of children.

For me, the 16 Days of Activism is a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to safeguard our children, who are our future. It is a time to unite, raise our voices, and take meaningful action to protect the most vulnerable from harm.

Let’s continue to stand together in unity, educate, empower, and drive change within our communities.

I am honoured and proud to be presenting at this year’s 6th Global Conference on Children and Youth in Cambridge, United Kingdom, this December.

As someone deeply passionate about education, research, and advocating for the voice of the child, especially child victims of abuse, this opportunity means so much to me.

It is a privilege to contribute to global conversations on safeguarding children and strengthening systems that protect and empower them.

Thank you to the members of PACCS in the United States for the opportunity to present online on the growing and complex issue of false sexual abuse allegations.

This topic is not only legally challenging but also deeply impactful for children, families, and professionals working to protect their rights and well-being. Conversations like these are crucial to promoting child-centred, trauma-informed, and evidence-based responses within our legal and child protection systems.

I am proud to have joined PACCS as a member and look forward to future collaborations that strengthen our collective efforts to safeguard children and promote justice.

World Mental Health Day: Supporting Children Starts with Supporting Parents

As we approach the end of the year, many children and parents are feeling the pressure — exams, school demands, year-end deadlines, and general fatigue can contribute to heightened stress and emotional strain. This can affect not only children’s mental health but also parents’ ability to support them effectively.

Children experience significant changes through their developmental stages, and stress can manifest in many ways — changes in mood, behaviour, sleeping patterns, or academic performance. Parents and caregivers play a vital role in helping children navigate these emotions with care, patience, and understanding. 💚

It’s equally important for parents to look after their own mental well-being. A calm and supported parent can provide the stability and reassurance a child needs during stressful times.

If you or your child is struggling, please reach out for support:
📞 National Centre for Child Protection — 076 900 7151
📞 The Teddy Bear Foundation — 011 484 4554
📞 Childline South Africa — 116 (toll free)
📞 South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) — 0800 456 789

Let’s break the stigma around mental health. Prioritising well-being — for ourselves and our children — creates stronger, more resilient families and communities. 💬✨

It’s never been easy to be a woman, not in modern times, and not in history. In a world filled with expectations, we carry ideas, dreams, and ambitions that deserve to be nurtured.

Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom, a working mom, or a woman building her place in the corporate world, you deserve a life filled with joy, dignity, and respect, no matter your choices.

For centuries, women have been silenced and suppressed. Today, let’s own our voices, our stories, and our paths. Let’s live fully, work boldly, and love fiercely.

This women’s day, stand tall, shoulders back, and believe in the power of who you are. Be unapologetically you. 💪💐

Just because you don’t ask for much doesn’t mean you deserve the bare minimum.
No matter where you come from or what your past looks like, you are worthy of love, respect, and abundance.

Someone once told me, “You come from Daspoort, so you’ll be happy even if I give you nothing.” That mindset is so harmful and untrue.

Your background does not define your worth, and your silence does not give others permission to offer you less.

This is especially true for those healing from narcissistic abuse, being conditioned to accept less does not mean you deserve less.

You are allowed to want more. You deserve more.

Where you come from does not determine your value. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

Celebrating the Strength of Women

Being a woman is not easy. The expectations placed upon us, whether to be kind, strong, nurturing, successful, or beautiful, can feel overwhelming. We work tirelessly to meet these world standards, to be more, to be mothers, partners, leaders, and changemakers.

Yet, every woman's journey is unique. We may not always know the struggles others face, but we can choose to respect their choices, even when they differ from our own. Let us uplift and support one another with kindness and understanding.

Women are extraordinary. Our strength, resilience, and capabilities are beyond measure. Today and every day, let’s celebrate the power and impact of women across the world.
