🤕 Headache? When to Worry and When to Rest
Most headaches are harmless — often caused by tension, dehydration, or lack of sleep.
But sometimes, a headache can signal something more serious.

💡 Common, manageable causes:

Stress or tension

Skipped meals or dehydration

Eye strain (too much screen time!)

Poor posture

🚨 See your doctor if you have:

* Sudden, severe (“worst ever”) headache

* Headache with fever, stiff neck, or rash

* Headache after a head injury

* Headache with vision changes, weakness, or confusion

* Frequent headaches that interfere with daily life

✨ Remember: You don’t have to live with constant headaches. Your GP can help find the cause and recommend treatment that works for you.

🛌 Sleep Better, Live Better
Quality sleep is as important for your health as nutrition and exercise. Poor sleep affects your mood, focus, and even your immune system.

🌙 Simple Sleep Hygiene Tips:

* Stick to a schedule – Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day (even weekends).

* Create a wind-down routine – Dim lights, avoid screens, and do something calming before bed.

* Limit caffeine & alcohol – Especially in the afternoon and evening.

* Keep your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet – Your body sleeps best in a comfortable environment.

* Avoid heavy meals before bed – Give your body 2–3 hours to digest.

* Move daily – Regular exercise promotes better sleep (but avoid intense workouts right before bed).

💬 Small changes in your bedtime habits can have a big impact on your health and energy levels.

😴 Always Tired? There might be an underlying cause for your fatigue!
Feeling constantly exhausted — even after a full night’s sleep?

Let’s talk about medical causes of fatigue your body might be trying to tell you about:

🩺 Common medical reasons for fatigue:
🔹 Iron deficiency / anemia
🔹 Underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)
🔹 Vitamin B12 or D deficiency
🔹 Chronic infections (e.g. EBV, CMV)
🔹 Sleep disorders (like sleep apnea)
🔹 Depression or anxiety
🔹 Diabetes or blood sugar imbalances

💡Fatigue is a symptom, not a diagnosis. If it’s ongoing, it’s worth investigating.

📞 Book a consultation with Dr Christa or Dr Hanroëtte.

Let’s find the cause — and help you feel like yourself again.

🧠 Boost Your Brain Health Today — For a Sharper Tomorrow 💡

Your brain is your most valuable asset — and just like your heart or muscles, it needs care to stay healthy as you age. While there’s no guaranteed way to prevent dementia, you can lower your risk by supporting your brain daily.

Here’s how:
✅ Move your body – Regular exercise improves blood flow to the brain.
✅ Nourish wisely – Eat a Mediterranean-style diet rich in greens, berries, healthy fats, and omega-3s.
✅ Challenge your mind – Learn something new, read often, play strategy games.
✅ Sleep well – Quality sleep helps your brain clear toxins.
✅ Connect socially – Isolation increases dementia risk. Stay connected with those you love.
✅ Manage chronic conditions – High blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol can affect cognitive health.
✅ Reduce stress – Chronic stress shrinks memory centres in the brain. Mindfulness, time in nature, or talking to someone can help.

🧬 Prevention starts decades before symptoms show.
Start today – your future self will thank you.
