Congratulations to our newest PADI Open Water Divers! 🤿

A massive well done to our fresh batch of PADI rockstars — certified, confident, and officially part of the underwater world!

That’s a wrap on scuba courses for 2025 and what a year it’s been! Huge thanks to the dive team who joined us today for some relaxed social diving and a braai, the perfect way to end the scuba year.

Now it’s time for us to recharge with some much-needed Vitamin Sea in Sodwana 🌊

Last Week of Swim Lessons = Splash-tastic Success!

Our final week of swim lessons for 2025 was all about FUN, FLOATING, and FULL-BLOWN COLOURFUL CHAOS!

From chasing bright balls across the pool to chilled play sessions, our students wrapped up the year with big smiles, turbo kicks, and a few sneaky learning moments hidden between all the splashing.

Even the parents couldn’t resist joining in the excitement from the sidelines — cheering, laughing, and nearly diving in themselves!

We’re now officially closed for the holidays, and we’ll dive back into the pool on 12 January 2026.

A HUGE thank you to every swimmer, parent, and instructor for a year packed with growth, giggles, goggles, and unforgettable Water Orphans energy! 💙

Wishing you all a wonderful festive season — we can’t wait to see you in the new year for more PADI swim adventures! 🎄

BREAKING NEWS!

We finally have proof that the Water Orphans instructors actually work (sometimes)!

Supervisor Tammy brought out the whip (OK, maybe just her “that look”) and made the pod scrub the pool from top to bottom.

The result? ✨ A pool so shiny you’ll need sunglasses just to look at it! 🕶️💦

Come witness the sparkle… and the instructors recovering in the shade. 😎

The Water Orphans pod is officially geared up for our LAST week of “work”… and by work, we obviously mean splashing, playing, and living our best life, in the water! 🐬

Our swim students are in for the most colourful week ever as we end the year with ball-filled, energy-packed lessons wrapping up on Friday, 12 December!

Meanwhile, our final two Open Water Diver courses are powering through with qualifying dives at Miracle Waters on 11, 12, 13 & 14 December, followed by our last fun dives of 2025 on 14 December.

A reminder that Water Orphans will be closed from 13 Dec to 11 Jan as we head off to dive out 2025 and dive straight into 2026 in Sodwana – our happy place! 💙

It’s going to be a jam-packed final week of fun lessons, qualifying dives, and unforgettable splashes. Let’s finish this year the Water Orphans way with big smiles, big bubbles, and even bigger PADI adventures!

🤿 Annual Snorkel Week at Water Orphans! 🤿

This week our swim students swapped the pool lanes for snorkels, masks and some BIG underwater adventure energy!

From mastering their breathing, to navigating an obstacle course, to spotting “mystery fish” (also known as our instructors doing their best shark impressions 😅), the kids absolutely rocked their snorkelling sessions! Their confidence, curiosity and fearless dives had us grinning from ear to ear.

We love giving our swimmers a little taste of the ocean world, and who knows… maybe we’ve just inspired a few future PADI divers!

A huge well done to our incredible Water Orphans instructors! You made the underwater world come alive right here in the pool this week.

🔥 The Battle of the Ages has begun! 🔥

Today we kicked off a brand-new Water Orphans tradition: “The Battle of the Ages!” A 30-meter freestyle showdown between student, parent and instructor… trofie and bragging rights included!

Our very first challengers: Steven, his dad, and Coach Ruanco!

And yes… thankfully Coach Ruanco held onto his (and our) dignity and took the win (phew!).

Steven powered in for an impressive second place, and dad came in third — but honestly, with Steven’s speed, dad never stood a chance!

🌟 Well done, Steven! You are an amazingly talented swimmer and you set the bar high for the next challengers!

Today we hosted The Water Orphans Summer Gala, and our swimmers gave it their all! From freestyle to backstroke, breaststroke to butterfly, every student pushed hard to beat their personal best times and wow, did they shine! ✨🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

We are so proud of every swimmer who jumped in with determination, courage, and a whole lot of heart. You made this gala one to remember!
