Just after 04:45pm on Wednesday afternoon ALS Paramedics responded to a multiple Truck and Vehicles crash on the M7 Towards the Bluff near the N2 intersection.

On arrival Paramedics found chaos and carnage as they found that a truck carrying what is believed to be copper plates had somehow lost control and collided with approximately four vehicles before overturning onto a light motor vehicle. Paramedics assessed the scene and found the truck driver entrapped in the wreckage as well as the vehicle which the truck landed on entrapped in the wreckage. Immediately the Ethekweni Fire Department were dispatched to assist. Two other occupants had sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene.

The Ethekweni Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to cut the Truck driver free, once freed he was transported to a nearby Hospital with minor injuries. Rescue personnel then had to use a heavy duty tow truck to lift the trailer and load of copper off the vehicle. Once access had been gained Paramedics found a female believed to be in her Fifties who had sustained fatal injuries. There was unfortunately nothing Paramedics could do for her and she was declared deceased on the scene. The scene was then handed over to SAPS.

The M7 Durban Bound was closed for hours whilst emergency personnel worked on the scene.

At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.

*Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash*

Just before 9am on Tuesday morning ALS Paramedics responded to a serious Motorbike Crash on the N2 North Bound after the M1 Higginson Highway onramp, South of Durban.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find carnage as they found that a motorcycle and truck had collided on the busy highway. Paramedics found the biker a male believed to be in his twenties had sustained major injuries. Unfortunately there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.

At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.

*Man Killed in Shongweni Crash*

Just after 11pm on Sunday evening ALS Paramedics responded to a serious crash on the N3 Durban Bound before Shongweni offramp.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find carnage as they found that a single vehicle had collided into a stationary Truck in the emergency lane. The driver and only occupant of the light motor vehicle was found entrapped in the wreckage and immediately the Ethekweni Fire Department were dispatched to assist. The man believed to be in his Fifties had sustained major injuries and unfortunately there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. The scene was then handed over to SAPS.

At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.

One Killed, One injured in Overport Shooting.

Just before 01:30pm on Sunday afternoon ALS Paramedics responded to a shooting incident on Crescent Street near East St Park in the Overport area.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS, Metro Police and Security Personal already in attendance. Paramedics were shown to a male believed to be in his thirties who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. It is alleged that a second person who had also sustained gunshot wounds was transported privately to Hospital. The scene was cornered off to allow SAPS to investigate this incident.

Multiple bullet shells were found on the roadway and a passing motorists vehicle was also damaged in the shoot out.

At this stage the events leading up to the shooting is unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.
