The Highway Hospice is in need of an experienced and mature Professional Nurse for our Home Care Department.

The person we are looking for MUST have the following (not negotiable):

● Current South African Nursing Council Registration

● Minimum of 5 years' experience as a registered nurse

● Valid driver’s licence for a manual car

● Good communication skills

● An ability to work well under pressure

● Palliative care experience and skills would be an advantage

Our first Beginnings & Endings course for 2026 starts on 18 February and runs for 7 weeks (Wednesdays).

The course is aimed at teaching participants the following:
• Hospice philosophy.
• The appreciation and need of a directed interdisciplinary team approach to terminal care of a patient.
• To improve listening and communication skills, for personal growth, and it teaches you how to take care of and be compassionate towards any patient facing a life-threatening illness.
• To analyze and grow in the understanding of your own needs and attitudes towards dying, death and grief of loved ones and others.
• The course is open to males and females

Bookings are subject to availability; please enquire about future dates for upcoming courses.

Enjoy a relaxed evening with food and beverages on sale, beautiful music, and the opportunity to purchase remembrance globes on the night.

As dusk settles, gather with us for the moving lighting of the Tree at 7:30pm - a moment of reflection, hope, and togetherness.
