The Full Blood Moon and Lunar Eclipse as seen over Umhlanga Rocks by Christo Smith.

We were treated to a lunar spectacle tonight as we had a total lunar eclipse during tonight's full moon.

I went down to the beach in Umhlanga Rocks to capture a couple of photos of the full moon rising.
I then waited for the lunar eclipse to take a few photos of the incredible event.

It was a very pleasant evening, but unfortunately it was very hazy and humid, so the visibility was poor.
The haze, however, did add a beautiful red glow as the moon initially rose. During the actual eclipse it limited the view of the stars which is something I've enjoyed photographing during previous lunar eclipses.

These are some of the photos I managed to capture this evening.

The first two photos are composite photos comprising of two separate images respectively, one for the foreground and scene, and one for the moon. The moon has been superimposed onto the foreground images to show you what I saw, as I saw it.
Then, I shared an image of the moon as the eclipse was progressing, and the final image is of the moon as it was fully eclipsed.
Herewith my humble attempt under rather difficult conditions. I hope that you like them.
