Hand-held irrigation is a valuable tool in — follow these evidence-based guidelines to maintain safety, visibility, and control during procedures.

1. Hang the irrigation bag 80cm above the patient to avoid overpressure from gravity.
2. Flush the device upright to eliminate air bubbles before use.
3. Use only small boluses (1–2 ml) — the renal pelvis fills quickly.
4. Pause between boluses to allow pressures to return to baseline (~3 seconds).
