As much as we all love summer, long days at the pool, beach trips, braais and sunshine, it’s also the time when many people forget the one thing that protects their skin the most: sunscreen. ☀️

A few gentle reminders from me:
✨ Apply sunscreen as the last step of your morning routine
✨ Use more than you think you need, most people under-apply
✨ Reapply every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating
✨ Don’t forget ears, neck, chest, hands and shoulders
✨ Choose shade when you can, and wear a hat during peak heat

Your skin works hard to protect you every single day.
A little sunscreen is one of the kindest things you can do for it.

Your future self will thank you for the care you give your skin today. 💛

As we step into a new year, I’m reminded of what truly matters: time with the people who’ve walked life with you from the very beginning. 🌸

These are my siblings and moments like this ground me more than anything else.

Family, loyalty, laughter and honesty, these are the things worth giving our energy to.

Wishing you a new year filled with meaning, connection and the people who make you feel at home.🩷

Late nights, dancing, sweating, make-up, and a little festive champagne… It’s all fun until your skin wakes up feeling dull, dehydrated and a bit inflamed. 🥂

Here’s what actually happens to your skin after a big night out:
• Alcohol dehydrates the skin, leaving it tight and lacklustre
• Make-up + sweat can clog pores and trigger breakouts
• Late nights slow down your skin’s natural repair process
• Heat and movement can increase redness and sensitivity

But don’t worry, your skin can bounce back beautifully with the right support:
✨ Calming facials to reduce inflammation
✨ Gentle peels to brighten and lift away buildup
✨ Hydration drips to replenish moisture from the inside out
✨ Barrier-supporting home care to restore balance

Give your skin a little love after the festive fun; it deserves the recovery just as much as you do. 🌿

To all our wonderful patients, we wish you a warm, happy and blessed Christmas. 🎄🤶🏻✨

Thank you for trusting us with your care; it truly means more than you know.

This season always reminds me how grateful I am for each person who walks through our doors. Your stories, your strength and your trust make our work so meaningful.

I hope today brings you peace, joy and the people who make your heart feel full.

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas. 💚

Your skin goes through a lot during the holiday: heat, aircon, pool water, late nights, make-up and yes… a little festive bubbly too. 🥂☀️

All of this can weaken your skin barrier, leaving it dry, tight or a bit “off.”

A few simple habits can help keep your skin happy:
✨ Use gentle, hydrating products
✨ Add antioxidants + hyaluronic acid
✨ Never skip SPF (even on cloudy days)
✨ Pause heavy actives if your skin feels sensitive

And if your skin needs extra support, gentle peels, calming facials and personalised homecare can help restore balance and glow.

Healthy barrier = healthy skin… even in the festive chaos. 💛

December always feels like a pause for me, a moment to take a breath after a year that felt both full and fast. ✨

In the practice, I see so many patients who arrive exhausted, stretched thin, or trying their best to keep everything together until the holidays finally arrive.

And every December, I’m reminded of something important:
We’re all just doing our best.
We’re all trying to show up for the people we love.
And sometimes, we forget to show up for ourselves, too.

So this year, I want to wish you a December that’s gentle.

A December where you get to rest, reconnect and refill your own cup, whatever that looks like for you.

Thank you for trusting me with your health, your stories and your wellbeing this year.

It’s something I never take for granted. 💛

If you pop into the practice this month, you’ll probably find me humming Christmas songs, eating too many mince pies and reminding every patient to drink water and breathe.

Just know that my door is always open, not just for check-ups, but for conversations, support and care.

Here’s to a kinder end to 2025… and a brighter year ahead. ✨

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this December?

Summer holidays, heat waves, beach days… and your Botox or filler appointment?

There are a lot of misconceptions out there about how heat affects injectables, so let’s clear things up. ☀️💉

Here’s what you should know:

✨ Heat doesn’t “melt” Botox or filler.
Injectables don’t break down from warm weather or sun exposure.

✨ But… heat can increase swelling.
Saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms and very hot showers can temporarily worsen swelling right after treatment.

✨ Exercise raises blood flow which may increase bruising if done too soon after your appointment. (We usually recommend avoiding intense exercise for 24 hours.)

✨ Sun exposure won’t damage the product, but your skin may be more sensitive after injections, making sunburn more likely.

✨ Alcohol + heat can make you more prone to bruising and dehydration, both of which can affect how you feel after your treatment.

With the right aftercare, your results stay safe, stable and beautiful, no matter the temperature outside. 💛

If you're unsure what’s safe post-treatment, we’re always here to guide you.

Let’s spread a little kindness this Christmas… and have some fun while we’re at it. 💛🎄

As many of you know, my dogs are my whole heart, which is why I love supporting the SPCA and Animal Anti-Cruelty League. If you’re able to donate this festive season, even a small amount makes a big difference to an animal in need. 🐶🫶🏻

And now for a quick 24-hour Christmas competition:
Guess my dogs’ names, in the order they’re sitting on my lap and the first correct answer wins a complimentary vitamin drip.
Comment your guess on Instagram or Facebook 💕

They make me smile every day. I hope they bring a little joy to yours, too. ✨

Teen skincare can be overwhelming and as a doctor, it worries me how many teens feel pressured to try every trend they see online.

But not everything promoted by influencers is safe for young skin.

Many trending products contain strong actives meant for adults, not for teenage skin that’s still developing its barrier. This can lead to:

✨ Irritation
✨ Breakouts
✨ Sensitivity
✨ Long-term barrier damage

Skincare doesn’t need to be complicated.
For most teens, a simple routine: cleanse, moisturise, SPF is more than enough.

If you’re unsure what’s right for your teen’s skin, please reach out. I’d much rather guide them gently than see young skin harmed by the wrong products. 💛

When you don’t know what to gift your wife for Christmas… trust me, skincare or a little self-care appointment is always a good idea. 🎁✨

A facial, a personalised skincare plan, or a subtle refresh can make her feel truly cared for.

If you need help choosing, we're always here to guide you. 💛

The festive season is almost here and our team will be taking a little break to rest, recharge and spend time with our families. 🎄✨

Please note our holiday closing dates:
📅 18 December 2025 – 7 January 2026

We’ll reopen on 7 January 2026, refreshed and ready to welcome you back.

If you’d like to book an appointment before we close, especially for year-end check-ups or aesthetic treatments, we recommend securing your spot as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support this year. Wishing you a safe, joyful and restful festive season. 💛
