A while back, I was training the kitchen staff at a lodge in Zululand. Ash had work in Durban, and my good friend came through for a few days. It was so great having her there and sharing her love of wildlife! We don’t often get to share the places we work with friends, so it made the whole experience even more special.

She caught this awesome shot of a Malachite Kingfisher while she was with me. Isn’t it so beautiful!?

We’ve got a delicious new recipe for you all this festival season, a refreshing Steelworks that’s perfect for sipping by the pool, at a braai, or wherever the celebrations take you.

* Full recipe below

Steelworks
Ingredients:
* 1 tin (200ml) soda water
* 3 tots (90ml) Stoney Ginger Beer
* 1 tot (30ml) Cola Tonic
* 12 drops Angostura Bitters
* Squeeze of fresh lime juice
Method:
1. Fill a tumbler glass with ice.
2. Add the soda water.
3. Pour in the Stoney Ginger Beer.
4. Stir in the Cola Tonic.
5. Add a squeeze of lime juice.
6. Add 12 drops of Angostura Bitters.
7. Stir gently to combine.
8. Garnish with a lime slice.
9. Serve chilled and enjoy. 🍹

Check out our Roasted Butternut with fragrant Chickpea Curry, topped with toasted almonds, served with basmati rice, sambals and chutney.
