Every Wednesday morning at 8 am, volunteers get together at The ADCA center in Umhlali to chop veggies. People bring vegies or donate into an account and those veggies get bought and delivered every week. The type of veggies needed are: Potatoes, carrots, onions, leeks, celery, butternut, sweet potatoes, cabbage, spinach and green beans. We all chop vegies on the morning and then I cook around 200 lt of meaty veg stew which gets delivered on Thursday mornings. Some of the veg is kept whole and I take it to Groutville on the Wednesday morning. Here, 5 to 6 meals a week get cooked on a fire, for 100 pensioners. Volunteers are invited to go do the feeding with me, children are welcome. I have been introduced to a small group of people in Shakashead, who have decided to look after 160 disabled people anyway they can. ADCA Hot Meal Initiative is stretching it's faith to provide food for at least 50 of the 160 a week. We are in desperate need of more veg to do this. We already producing around 600 meals a week, I am trusting that together we can increase this. If you are interested in getting involved pls contact me, 082 555 4492. www.adca.co.za
