After bariatric surgery: anxiety and sleep improve fast, depression delayed...

If you’ve ever wondered how quickly mental health shifts after weight-loss surgery, a new longitudinal study offers helpful, practical answers. Researchers tracked 78 adults with overweight or obesity who had laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and compared them with 65 age- and sex-matched healthy controls. They measured anxiety, depression and sleep quality repeatedly for up to two years after surgery using well-known questionnaires (BAI, BDI and PSQI).

A WONDERFUL SUCCESS STORY - RIETTE

I just want to thank the whole team, you and Dr du Toit, for the diligence and care during my whole process. Going for the Gastric Bypass was a huge decision, and I have not regretted it since.

I have lost a total of 48kg's (so far), and my BMI went from 41 to 26.8.

I feel blessed for the fact that I haven't experienced ANY post surgery issues or complications, and I just want to say thank you for playing such a vital part in my whole transformation.
