Did you know that there is now also studies that shows Va**ng is associated with Chronic Lung Diseases & increases the risk of Heart Disease, specifically high Blood Pressure? 🚬

Let me tell you what I hear most commonly from my patients that smokes:

“My grandfather was a smoker for many years & he lived until he was 90 years old…”

And the conversation that usually follows is something like this:

…Wow, that’s amazing! BUT, did he struggle with his breathing? Did he use asthma pumps? Was he able to do physical activities? Did he require oxygen? How did his teeth look? How did his skin look? Was he on cholesterol tablets?…” and the answer usually isn’t good..

Yes, not every person that smokes develops Cancer but the risks of serious illnesses increases & most importantly your Quality of Life is affected. 😕

Did you know that certain screening tests are advised at certain ages? EVEN if you do not have any symptoms or signs.🩺

When I tell my patients this, it usually is new information for them!🧐

By doing screening tests for common cancers/diseases we can prevent & treat the early stages/advanced spread/complications.

These ages are guidelines & if you are worried about any symptom it is still advised to talk to your GP & see what tests are necessary, no matter what your age.🏥

Did you know that even Mild Acne can lead to Acne Scarring? Why is this important?🤔

Because treating Acne will prevent acne scarring.☝️

What common types of Acne Scars do we get?
1. Icepick Scars - ‘narrow & deep’
2. Boxcar Scars - ‘round or oval’ depressions
3. Rolling Scars - ‘wide & shallow’

But if you do struggle with acne scarring - there are various options to treat it & a combination approach (as always) is the way to go.

For this patient, we started his journey with treating the different scars with a procedure called subcision followed by placement of a very soft Hyaluronic Acid Filler.

Over two sessions his scars started to become softer & less noticeable, giving him more self confidence. 😄
