As an OT we fully understand the importance of efficient pencil grip for writing. But we also know that sometimes the most efficient grip for a specific person does not always “fit in the box”. What an excellent example of what is possible when we allow a child to do the only pencil grip they can manage, as to not break their confidence. Obviously he will severely fatigue with extended periods of writing and will need help with that, but look what talent for art he has!

Fantastic idea to re-use dry markers and improve handwriting without writing👌

Spray bottles are an excellent tool for hand strengthening! When filled with old markers and water, they become a fabulous way to do some watercolor painting!

A fully loaded session awaiting this 10 year old with dyslexia… Gross motor, fine motor, reflexes, sensory, visual perception, auditory, phonological, audio-grapho-motor and auditory and visio-grapho manipulation!! Phew! All fun and games😁

This is so so important and so easy and fun. More of all of these activities BEFORE putting pencil/pen/crayon to paper will prevent an incorrect pencil grip. An incorrect pencil grip is either the cause of or it adds to many other problems which range from poor posture, to spelling to concentration and more.
