Cannon: Margaret Anne. Our beloved mom passed away on 7 February 2026. She fought cancer with unmatched courage, facing each challenge with grace, strength, and unwavering faith. Even in her toughest moments, she inspired everyone around her with her resilience, her love, and her refusal to let fear define her. Her spirit was a beacon of hope, reminding us to cherish each day and face life’s battles with dignity.
She will be deeply missed by her mother, Mavis Hendricks; her siblings, Lee Anne Healy, Vanessa Els and Patsy Smiltneek; her brothers Daniel and Reggie Hendricks; her sisters-in-law Sanette and Ayanda Hendricks; her children, Anthony, Sylvester, Timothy and Rosie; her daughter-in-law, Stacey Lee and her beloved grandchildren, Matao, Dante, Enzo, Caleb, Katie, Meegan, Domenick, Kayla, and Miguel. Richter Funerals is a family business that was started by the late Conradt Richter in 1981 in King William's Town under the name Richter & Richter Funeral Directors. Having been in the bereavement industry since the late 1960’s, Conradt and his dedicated wife, Eleanor, were able to build a successful family business serving the Border region. After an initial partnership in another business in East London, it was decided to open Richter & Richter East London in 1997.
After Conradt Richter’s sudden death in 2012, Eleanor entrusted her children to become her partners in carrying on the legacy that they had built.
