It is not only safe, it's actually recommended. Here are a few benefits of exercise for pregnant woman and their growing babies:
~ Reduces lower back pain;
~ Eases constipation;
~ Decreases risk of gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and the need for caesarean delivery;
~ Aids in an easier natural delivery;
~ Promotes healthy weight gain during pregnancy;
~ Improves overall general fitness and strengthens your heart and blood vessels;
~ Helps you to lose the baby weight after your baby is born;
~ Helps set up your baby for success by increasing his/her number of mitochondria.
If you aren't sure where to start when it comes to prenatal exercise, speak to your Physio, Biokeneticist or Pregnancy exercise Specialist to get you started.
