Iโll always be proud to be a Clarendon High School for Girls girl! Itโs where I learned who I am, what it means to be a woman, and that my voice matters - and should be heard ๐

From the Clarendon classrooms to the hospital wards, Dr. Robyn Spring is a shining example of how passion, purpose, and perseverance can lead to extraordinary success!
A proud Clarrie Girl, Dr Spring embraced every opportunity that came her way during her school years. From hockey and swimming to debating, Interact, the flute ensemble, and even reaching the finals of an Afrikaans public speaking competition! Her enthusiasm for both sport and culture reflected the all-rounded excellence that Clarendon continues to nurture today.
After matriculating with us in 1992, she pursued her dream of becoming a doctor at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS). Following her internship at Frere Hospital and community service at Queenstownโs Frontier and Dordrecht Hospitals, she went on to specialise as an OBGYN through the University of Cape Town.
Since 2005, Dr. Spring has been in private practice as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in East London. She currently serves as the Lead Obstetrician at Life Beacon Bay Hospital and is a member of the Executive Committee of the South African Menopause Society.
Her commitment to service extends beyond medicine, she has also dedicated time to the Governing Bodies of Clarendon Prep, Primary, and High School for Girls, giving back to the community that helped shape her.
Her proudest achievement, is raising a daughter who has followed in her footsteps as a Clarendon girl, a true continuation of the Clarendon legacy!
Dr. Spring says that Clarendon taught her the power of having a voice and the importance of using it to make a difference. She continues to live out those values every day, advocating for her patients, leading with empathy, and inspiring young women to believe that they, too, can make their mark on the world!
