There is something important we want you to hear: stepping away is not giving up. 🌿

It’s not being antisocial or showing weakness. When we are constantly surrounded by demands - noise, decisions, and the emotional labour of caring for others - our nervous system accumulates a "cost." At some point, that cost needs to be discharged. 🔋🕊️

Space is the antidote. Learning to read your signals before you hit the wall is the ultimate act of mental health ownership. Give yourself permission to pause - without the guilt. Your system will thank you for it. 🤍☕

Let’s reframe something important: your "overwhelm" isn't a character flaw. 💚🇿🇦

When you feel snappy, anxious, or just completely shut down, it’s often your nervous system responding to more than it can process. In OT, we look past the "behaviour" and focus on the regulation. When your nervous system feels supported, everything from your sleep to your focus starts to shift. 🌿🧠

Understanding what is happening in your body is the first step toward true mental health ownership. You aren't "weak"—you're just human, and you can learn to navigate this.
