A 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is a hole in the nasal septum caused by disruption of its blood supply, leading to cartilage damage. Perforations at the back of the nose may cause few symptoms, while those at the front can result in nasal blockage, crusting, recurrent nosebleeds, a whistling sound when breathing, pain, or discharge. Common causes include nasal trauma or surgery, nose picking, overuse of nasal sprays, co***ne use, inflammatory disease, infections, and rarely malignancy. Most cases are managed with saline sprays, humidification, and ointments, with surgery required only in selected cases.

Vestibular migraines don’t always cause head pain, many people experience dizziness, imbalance, nausea, or sensitivity to motion instead. These episodes can be mistaken for inner-ear disorders, which is why proper evaluation is so important.

If dizziness tends to come in “episodes” with light or sound sensitivity, it may be vestibular migraine.

Fungal infections in the ear or sinuses are more common in warm, humid seasons. Ear fungal infections (otomycosis) often cause itching, discharge, or a “blocked” feeling.

Keeping ears dry and avoiding cotton buds can reduce risk - but persistent symptoms should be professionally cleaned and assessed.

Parotid tumours are growths that occur in the largest salivary gland, located just in front of the ear. Most are benign, but they still require assessment because some can grow or affect facial movement over time.

Early evaluation helps determine whether observation or surgical treatment is needed.
