Cable theft suspect apprehended by power couple.

Yesterday on the way to a family lunch, our regional manager and his fiancee came across a man that was busy digging out cable at a hotspot near the airport. They immedietly stopped and apprehended the man in the act.

In his possesion was tools being used in the crime, copper cable and a knife amongst other things.

The suspect was arrested and handed over to law enforcement where a case has been opened.

Today our K9 Team made it their mission to perform crime prevention patrols on our beaches from Gonubie to the Orient. One to prevent crime and two, to send a strong message to criminals for this festive period. It wasn't all work and no play, with our pawed officers having some fun and down time in between.

Abalone poacher falls short in joint operation efforts.

This week our Commander team was informed about information of poaching occurring in Gonubie.

Our team met up with the SAPS, Eco Scorpians and the department of fisheries before approaching where the alleged crime was occurring.

At the scene after gathering intelligence, a bakkie was spotted with 2 men running towards the vehicle. We gave chase and after seeing abalone being dumped and members catching up with the vehicle, one suspect was apprehended running away with stolen goods and equipment in hand.

The vehicle used was impounded, abalone and equipment used taken as evidence. One suspect arrested and a case has been opened with further investigations on-going.

Gate motor theft duo apprehended by officers after multiple gate motors hit.

This morning at around 04h20, the Red Alert control centre received information of two man that were seen tampering with a gate motor in Conway road.

Our team was patroling near by and came across the two individuals. Upon further investigation, it was found that they had also tampered and stolen gate motors at other homes in Conway and Lonsdale Road. After our team found gate motors and parts in their possession.

The two men were then arrested and handed over to the SAPS, where cases have been opened.

Multiple school theft syndicate member arrested by tactical team.

We received information from a community member that educares and pre schools were being targeted by a syndicate. That would say they wanted to come look at the school for their child and then whilst looking around steal goods, mainly being cell phones.

After intelligence was gathered, a multi disciplined team was put together to investigate and catch the people involved. An operation was conducted yesterday where one individual was arrested, with stolen goods in hand.

Upon further investigation it was found that he had other stolen items from previous thefts at schools and his list where he was going to commit crimes that day. The suspect is wanted in connection with several other cases and is a repeat offender.

With cases now mounting against him from recent victims. We are confident that he is going to be residing in a new permanent residence in one of our correctional facilities.
