🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You From All at Edenvale Care Centre Hospice ✨

On Tuesday, 2 December 2025, the Bedfordview and Edenvale News published an article sharing the difficult reality that we at the Edenvale Care Centre Hospice are facing possible closure as our funds have run out.

Since the article was released, we have been overwhelmed by the incredible kindness, support, and encouragement from our community. Your messages, calls, and willingness to help have reminded us that we are not alone and that the spirit of Ubuntu and compassion truly lives in Edenvale, Gauteng and South Africa.

For over 25 years, we have provided comfort, dignity, and compassionate care to patients and families during life’s most vulnerable moments. With your help, we hope to continue doing so for many years to come.

🙏A Heartfelt Thank You to the Yenkendess Family🙏

Today, our hearts were deeply touched by an act of love and generosity. The Yenkendess Family responded to our Facebook plea and donated much-needed cleaning supplies to Edenvale Hospice, a beautiful gesture made in loving memory of Tracey, who was called to rest on the 27th October 2023.

In honouring Tracey’s life, the Yenkendess Family has chosen to bring comfort and care to others every year, as a reflection of her kind and giving spirit. Their donation will help us continue to provide a clean, peaceful, and nurturing environment for our patients and their families.

Lenovo: Celebrating Women with Gratitude

The Edenvale Care Centre Hospice team extends our heartfelt thanks to Greg Pothitos of Lenovo for thoughtfully organising and hosting the Ladies Appreciation Luncheon on 28 August 2025.

It was a profoundly meaningful and memorable event, a beautiful tribute to the remarkable women who, often behind the scenes yet always with strength and grace, shape our families, workplaces, and communities.

Your care in curating such a thoughtful experience did not go unnoticed. From the elegant setting to the warm hospitality, every element reflected a sincere recognition of the vital contributions women make every day. It was a celebration filled with warmth, inspiration, and genuine appreciation, a reminder of the quiet power of compassion and dedication.

On August 2nd, 2025, the heart of Edenvale was pumping as Bernerd Blom from Blom Events, in partnership with the ever-supportive Ridgeway Racebar, brought the community together for a truly special afternoon. It was all in support of the Edenvale Care Centre Hospice, a cause close to many hearts and Bernerd, with his signature passion and generosity, pulled off an event to remember.

Ridgeway Racebar went the extra mile (as they always do!), kindly donating all the food and making sure every guest was fed, happy, and feeling right at home. Their generosity added warmth and flavour to the day, quite literally!

The people of Edenvale showed up in full force, bringing along their kindness, big hearts, and a whole lot of good vibes. It wasn’t just a fundraiser, it was a celebration of what makes this community so special. And when a town comes together like that, magic happens… like raising an incredible R31,200.00 for the hospice. Proof that when we lead with love, there's nothing we can't do!
