Dear colleagues and friends
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make our recent eye screening event such a great success.
The free eye screening was held at Our Village in Middelburg on the 23rd and 24th of October 2025, and what a wonderful turnout we had- 50 patients were screened!
From these patients, we identified the following conditions:
* Glaucoma: 5
* Pterygium: 6
* Cataracts: 14
* Vision abnormalities: 11
* Optic category: 2
* Infections category: 12
A big thank you to Our Village Management Team and Bambanani Medical Centre for making it possible for us to use their facilities.
We also extend our appreciation to SATS for generously sponsoring the gift bags and pamphlets - thank you team!
Special thanks to Derick Truter for setting up and assisting with the online booking system, and to Tasmiya for offering our patients free hand massages- they absolutely loved it!
Your teamwork and support made all the difference. Together, we truly made an impact on our community's eye health.

Greetings All
Our Eye Awareness Month was a huge success and we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was involved. Together we made a difference in the lives of so many people by giving them the gift of sight again. 10 patients had CATARACT surgeries done for FREE👏🥳🎉
The joy on our patients faces the following morning😊, when the eye patches were removed was truly moving. From having only light perception or even none at all to suddenly being able to read the VA chart brought tears to many.
A special thank you goes to:

* Advanced Day Clinic staff and management for providing their facilities, stock and professional care to our patients

March is Glaucoma awareness month. This year's theme is "Uniting for a Glaucoma-Free World"
We had FREE glaucoma screening on the 10th and 12th March at Emalahleni Private hospital also at Centre De La Vie and it was a great success.
We examined 65 patients in total, below is a breakdown of conditions seen:
1. Glaucoma suspects =7
2. Glaucoma =2
3. Cataracts =10
4. Pterygium= 5
5. Others = 41

Greetings All
After our successful eye awareness campaign day we recognized patients especially pensioners that really needed surgery for dense cataracts. With the help of Advanced De LA Vie Day Hospital, patients with no vision or only light perception were operated. We love giving back to our community. With the consent/permission from the patients, these are pictures of some of them.

The month of October is Eye care awareness month and this year's theme is "Love Your Eyes" On the 9th October we had a successful eye awareness campaign day. Patients were examined for FREE.
After all examinations were done, we have realized that cataracts, glaucoma, pterygiums and diabetic retinopathy were the most leading conditions seen. We therefore encourage everyone to get their eyes checked atleast once a year.
