Good morning, everyone.

We just returned from the park, where we took our four-legged children for a walk. 🐾 Simba enjoys his walks, though he tires easily, so we make sure not to overdo it. He is still doing well, and we cherish the time we spend with him. We love him dearly, and I truly believe that God knew I needed him in my life.🙏🏼

Good morning everyone,

I wanted to provide an update on Joker’s condition. The lumps he previously had are decreasing. He will need another round of Clindahexal, after which Witbank Veterinary Hospital will conduct further blood tests and X-rays to assess the condition of his liver and determine the next steps.

Joker continues to eat well and play with his furry friends. However, his owner currently has an outstanding balance of R1300 and requires financial assistance to support Joker's ongoing treatment. I am including the vet’s account details below for anyone who is able to make a donation. Your support would be greatly appreciated and will contribute significantly to Joker’s well-being.

If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider liking, sharing, and commenting on this post to help increase its visibility. This may help us reach someone who is in a position to provide assistance.

Thank you for your support.🤍🐾

Good day, everyone.

I am pleased to share that my fiancé and all our pets have relocated to Gauteng, now we are all together again!

Simba is adjusting wonderfully to our new home. We have received the results from his DNA test, which reveal that he is a moderately mixed breed: 70% Boerboel, 20% Bullmastiff, and 10% Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

We are grateful to have these results as they will help us understand and manage his breed characteristics more effectively.

Although we have temporarily paused his training due to our relocation and some personal challenges, I want to extend our sincere thanks to Michelle from Witbank & Middelburg K9 Club Her assistance has significantly improved Simba's behavior, and I wholeheartedly recommend her for your dog’s training needs.

MEET JOKER🐾

Joker began showing signs of illness approximately two weeks ago and was admitted to Witbank Veterinary Hospital by Dr. Nolan on Monday, August 19th. He was temporarily sent home while his owner works on securing the necessary funds for further testing. The lumps he has should be biopsied and analyzed, and he will need to consult a skin specialist. Joker is suffering from a rare liver disease that affects the skin and causes lumps. It is crucial to determine the exact nature of the skin disease and its impact on his liver to start appropriate treatment as soon as possible. Given the high cost of veterinary care, his owner is facing difficulties covering the expenses. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.🙏🏼

Good day everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I apologize for my recent lack of updates. I have relocated from the farm back to Boksburg due to a new work opportunity. Currently, Simba is staying on the farm with my fiancé until we can be reunited. I deeply miss all my animals.🤍🥹🐾

Today, my fiancé sent me a photo of Simba taken during a walk, comparing it to an image from June 25th, when we first received him in an emaciated condition with an abscess. The transformation is truly remarkable, and I am incredibly grateful to each of you for your support. Your dedication and compassion have made a significant difference, and you should be proud of your efforts to help those in need. Even small acts of kindness can have a profound impact.🙌🏻

Thank you all for your continued support.

Good morning everyone,

We collected both our furbabies around 6 p.m. yesterday. It appears that Simba may have had an allergic reaction to an insect bite. We will be monitoring him closely and administering the medication prescribed by Dr. Nolan.

As I suspected, Chucky unfortunately has a tracheal collapse, where the cartilage rings in the trachea collapse, leading to breathing difficulties and a harsh, dry cough. With appropriate management and treatment, Chucky can lead a normal lifespan. He has been prescribed medication and will also need to lose some weight.

Good morning,

We took Simba and Chucky in to Witbank Veterinary Hospital.

We observed that Simba’s face has started swelling again on one side. They will administer light sedation to investigate the cause of the swelling and also give him his last set of vaccinations. Additionally, Simba has gained weight; he now weighs 48 kg.🤍🐶

Separately, my other dog, Chucky, has started coughing and even stopped breathing at one point. I suspect a tracheal collapse, but I will rely on the professionals to perform check-ups and X-rays to determine the cause of his condition.😁

I know they are in the best care!!

Good morning everyone,

I hope this message finds you all well. I am pleased to report that Simba is doing exceptionally well. He and Bailey get along wonderfully, often playing together and occasionally sharing a bed. Simba continues to enjoy his training sessions, which remain a highlight for him. This week, Simba will be attending a check-up and receiving his vaccinations. Additionally, we will be weighing him to assess his weight gain since his last visit.

Will keep you updated.🤍🐶

Simba attended his first class with other dogs today and performed admirably.
He sat several times, which made us very proud of his progress and obedience.

Good evening everyone,

Simba visited Witbank Veterinary Hospital today. His current weight is 41.5 kg, showing a gain of 9 kg in just 3 weeks.🤩 While he still has more weight to gain, he's progressing well. Simba underwent a check-up and received vaccinations today.

Currently, Simba is having difficulty sitting normally; he tends to favor one side, and his other leg appears uncomfortable. We plan to schedule an x-ray soon to investigate any potential issues.

In addition, we walk with Simba daily, and he loves playing fetch with a tennis ball, which he enthusiastically brings back.🎾🐕

Good morning everyone,

I've been feeling under the weather the past couple of days. Yesterday, Simba had his training session, and he's been showing great progress. He learns quickly and we're pleased with his improvement. This week, we'll be focusing on teaching him to "sit" on command, although he's still having some difficulty with that. We're taking our time with him and not rushing the process.🤍

Simba has a check-up scheduled for this Wednesday, where we'll also weigh him again. It'll be interesting to see how much weight he's gained since we first got him. Both my fiancé and I adore Simba dearly; he's already become an integral part of our family of four-legged children.🐾

The public has shown so much support for Simba; whenever he accompanies us into town, he's greeted warmly and often given treats. He's quite spoiled! Many people have suggested organizing a meet and greet once Simba is feeling better, where others can meet him, offer snacks or toys, and share their love. I'd love to gauge interest in this idea - would any of you be interested?

Additionally, I thought it would be wonderful to collect dog and cat food to donate to the SPCA or another animal rescue organization during such an event.

Let me know your thoughts!

Good evening everyone,

I apologize for my recent inactivity. Simba is progressing well; he's gradually gaining weight and looks significantly better than when we first got him. Today, he attended his first doggy class, which went well. I want to express my gratitude to Michelle from Witbank & Middelburg K9 Club agreeing to work with us on teaching Simba obedience and other skills.🤍🐕🐾

Simba really enjoyed the training session
(probably because he receives treats as rewards)😂

Simba is a strong and smart dog, and I just know he will pick up the teachings quickly. I loved working with him today and felt like we already bonded.😊
