MyBSRStory
After many years working in the Building Industry, with daily site visits, having to climb ladders or scaffolding onto roofs and jumping over parapet walls, my body started taking strain, to a point where I could hardly bend and my lower back would go into spasm. I was the Regional Marketing / Branch Manager for KZN which also entailed long distance driving and getting in and out of my car several times a day.
The business grew rapidly so I needed to employ staff and that came with responsibilities, challengers and training them. Then I started getting migraines every two or 3 months lasting 3 days, which I just had to live with, using anti-inflammatory drugs! I tried chiropractors, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, and I swam every day, to no avail. Over eight years nothing helped. In 1996 I moved from Durban to Jeffrey’s Bay and opened another branch office in the Eastern Cape and 2 years later, I opened a new division in Cape Town.
A friend told me about Body Stress Release, and I gladly gave it a try whilst in Cape Town. After the 3rd session, I knew that I wanted to change my career and do BSR – it was a clear calling. After many years of emotional trauma, I could feel the positive changes and deep healing taking place in my body. It took months of weekly sessions and understanding of how, when lines of communication are restored, the body heals itself.
I then went to see Ewald who gave me the application forms - and a release!
A year later, in February 2000, Ewald and Gail came to interview me at my home in Jeffrey’s Bay. Gail shared with me that I was the 11th person accepted on the course of 2000. I was so excited – I was jumping for Joy!
I resigned from my job and sold my beautiful home to do the course. With my house being sold on the last day of March, I had one month to pack up before I started the course. It was a life-changing experience! After the course I moved to Port Elizabeth in November 2000 where I was the 1st Practitioner to open up a practice. In no time my practice was thriving, and I was a whole new person, enjoying my life, living my dream and working at The Association of Creative Thought Centre – five of my clients were accepted to do the BSR course!
Unfortunately, after five years, the building where I stayed and practiced was sold, so yet again I placed my furniture into storage and went to work as a Carer in the UK. I continued being involved with BSR during that time, by doing swap sessions with my BSR Family, attending workshops and returned to SA for the annual conferences.
On my return to SA, I welcomed an opportunity to practice in Knysna. When a gap became available in George, I relocated and have been practicing there for the last 3 years.
It is such a Joy helping humanity and animals to experience enhanced well-being and healing. It’s not a Job but a Pleasure.
