We’re excited to welcome Johandi to our Saturday team.

She will be seeing clients at on Saturdays in our rooms.

Johandi has a lot to offer both in clinical skill and in her kind and gentle nature. She is trained in Sensory Integration and has done a postgraduate diploma in Visual Perception. She is well experienced in working with children with dyslexia and similar difficulties, as well as executive functioning challenges.

She is excited to use her ASI skills at our practice. And we look forward to serving our community and learning from her as well!

This means that more Saturday slots are opening soon! (yay!)

You’re warmly invited to our Garden Picnic for Autistic Adults 🌿

Autism South Africa is hosting a garden picnic where autistic adults can meet, connect and socialise with other autistic people in a comfortable, low-pressure environment.

Date: 14 March 2026
Time: 13:00
Venue: Autism South Africa, 24 Sussex Road, Parkwood, Johannesburg

Bring your own picnic food and a blanket — and most importantly, yourself, just as you are. Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be provided.

This is an opportunity to spend time with others who share lived experience, build community, and enjoy a gentle afternoon together in the garden.

Last Saturday we had such fun at Linkwood Hospital. We love being a part of the support system for parents sharing about our OT services and about our awesome classes

It was awesome to share the day with fellow team members.

“Look at the differences between a typical preschool child’s hand (left) and a typical 7 year old hand (right). Want to know why a preschool aged child isn’t able to write yet? This is why! Their hands are still developing and are not fully formed. So what should they be doing to support this? PLAY!! Play dough, coloring, cutting, gluing, playing outside, digging in dirt, sensory play, dress up play, science experiments, beading, puzzles, throwing balls, etc.
All of these things help their hands develop. When they are physically ready to write, they will! No need to rush them, they will show you when they are ready.” ❤️
