A growth mindset embraces learning, persistence, and feedback, fostering resilience, confidence, and long-term success. In contrast, a person with a fixed mindset sees their abilities as static, avoids challenges, and may interpret setbacks as signs of personal failure. We all want to protect our mental health, but sometimes the biggest obstacle comes from within. Our own thinking patterns can quietly shape how we feel, and not always in helpful ways.

This Mental Health Awareness Month may be the perfect time to reflect on how our thinking patterns can shape our well-being. Sometimes, our minds can play tricks on us and create unhelpful thoughts that increase anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

These cognitive distortions often begin as coping mechanisms but can become rigid and harmful over time.

By recognising and challenging these unhelpful thought patterns, we can learn to reframe our thinking, strengthen our coping skills, and take better care of our mental health. 💚

Awareness is the first step — learn to notice, pause, rethink the story your mind is telling you, and choose a kinder perspective. 🌿
