The Gauteng Legislature Portfolio Committee on Health and Wellness, together with the MEC for Health and Wellness, , toured Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital and visited the Paediatric Oncology Ward to observe service delivery and assess the needs of children receiving cancer care and the staff supporting them.

During the visit, MEC also showcased cutting-edge medical equipment and upgraded infrastructure previously unveiled at the hospital, including a heart-lung machine, a refurbished angiography suite, and a state-of-the-art angiogram machine.

These upgrades are strengthening specialised cardiothoracic and vascular services, improving diagnostic accuracy, reducing waiting times, and enhancing the overall quality of patient care.
