This week we have been focusing on Forward Folding poses, and Kurmasana or Tortoise Pose.

The tortoise teaches us that life is a dance between retreat and engagement—knowing when to draw inward for rest and reflection, and when to extend ourselves with courage and curiosity. It teaches us to embrace patience and presence. This pose reminds us that strength and stillness can coexist. Slow, steady progress is powerful.

You can use a yoga block to support shoulder opening and build strength, creating space for the deep forward fold that Kurmasana requires. Forward folds calm the mind, soothe the nervous system, and gently stretch the spine. Shoulder openers release tension, improve posture, and prepare us for deeper flexibility.
